Expensive, but a worthwhile upgrade from the Apple TV 3rd gen, particularly if you want to keep in Apple ecosystem. The ability to add apps completely changes functionality. Remote is a gazillion times improved.
Runs smoother. Love that I can connect two BT headphones simultaneously. Everything working as it should so far... except connectivity with my Apple Watch is iffy. Didn't have this issue with the 3rd gen and yes, all latest updates installed.

This is a very user-friendly streamer that has the main apps that I use that are not always available from other streaming devices (e.g. Binge, Disney).

If you're in the Apple ecosystem, then buying this is a no-brainer.

The remote is very nice and you can also use Siri from the remote.

Yes, it's an expensive way to get 'Smart TV' but in my opinion the best, in terms of ease-of-use, picture and audio quality. I compared it to the built-in apps of my Sony Android 4K TV and a Roku box and the Apple TV has brighter, more realistic colours and the Dolby Atmos sounds better. The new remote is much improved compared to the previous model, which I often picked up upside down and consequently pressed the wrong button, and everything works reliably and instantly (this is not the case with most slow built-in TV apps).

It’s really easy to use. Connects easily to internet, even when changing between hotspots & wifi. Can change to other locations easily without requiring additional setup. My parents have a smart tv but have also ordered an Apple TV as it is easier to use.

Sooo, much better than my older apple tv. Its fantastic, use it all the time. Control took me a little while to master as its completely different to old one, took my husband a bit longer to master but thats because he is impatient. Even voice control is great, though only used it a couple of times.
When doing a search, keyboard is much quicker to type into, not a painful process like earlier version (Apple tv 3).
