5.0 out of 5 starsGood product at a fantastic price
Reviewed in Australia on 5 June 2019
This air purifier does a great job to clean a bedroom’s air from allergens and dust. This seems to be a rebranded popular Levoit one used from Amazon US to work on 230/240volt electricity. Replacement filters currently can be found by searching for “LV-132 Replacement filter”.

I used a power meter and at the lowest setting it is ultra quiet (can barely hear it) and uses only 16 watts. At medium setting it sounds like a desk fan and uses 26 watts. At the highest setting it sounds like a desk fan on a high setting and uses 48-52 watts.

Note: Before first use, you need to open the bottom of it and take off the plastic wrapping protecting the air filter!

Bloody Noses
3.0 out of 5 starsNot as quiet as other reviewers claim but overall decent product.
Reviewed in Australia on 13 February 2020
My 3/5 is simply because it's a 'good' product, it doesn't have any particular stand out features in particular.

First and foremost we should talk about the noise and where in my own house i've put it. So it recommends 40cm of space all round which is no problem I have a table at the end of my 5m x 4.2m bedroom and I put it on that table's corner with nothing around it. On the smallest fan speed (it has 3) it's bearable during the day but quite loud at night when there's no external noises to deal with. I would say that it's about the same as putting my big dyson bladeless dc fan on it's low/medium settings downstairs in our living room. It's audible and very much so. Not sure if it's much of a measure to go by but even during the day with the door open (and as it stands it's within 1m of my open door directly I can go out into the hall which leads straight on with no curves and hear it right at the end possibly 10m+ away. That's on 1. For example it's lightly raining in Sydney right now and I have it on at its lowest setting but I can't hear the rain on my roof, but the bird calls are coming through the white noise no problem.

On 3 I can hear it from downstairs. So idk if the other reviewers run blow driers all day but it's nowhere near as silent as they claim. That being said I've been worked like a mule this week and I did actually manage to fall asleep with it on but honest to god I would've knocked off even with a rock band playing downstairs.

It doesn't make any rackets or weird noises, it's just the wind noise which speaks of its quality. You'd probably be hard pressed to find a similar product in Australia under $200 with the same spec sheet as this. One thing I have to admit is that regardless of the 'silence' it works. My neighbors recently had their first child and its bedroom is right next to mine almost, it cries at 1-3-5-6am so I can no longer sleep with my windows open and by habit I sleep with my door closed too. Without this on in the morning there's no difference between a field of manure and the air in my room. This entire week of trying this filter the air is still a little stuffy because in the end it's the same thing rotated through a few thousand times over night but it's extremely noticeable improvement. No odor, and it breathes super easily. I change my own car's hepa filter because it's easy and saves a few hundred every time in service fees and the one in this unit looks just as great, goes from fine dust mesh, to hepa air filter to something like charcoal hexagonal pods. Considering the price and also the availability of replacement filters this is a heck of deal.

So we've done one negative and one positive, no it's not nearly as quiet as you'd hope even on it's lowest setting but yes you can sleep to the white noise if necessary and YES it works.

Let's talk about what you get for $200. A (so far) quality unit with no noises other than airflow, plastic tube body and overall decent design but quite bulky definitely no metal anywhere to be seen. A blue night light that is near useless (for me at least) that turns on every time you turn it off and on again (super annoying). You get a filtration cartridge that's INCREDIBLY easy to remove and relatively cheap to replace. But that's it. No smart features, I hooked it up to one of my smart plugs thinking I could get it to switch on and off but it doesn't have any onboard memory to remember the previous settings before the last power off thus the blue night light turning on every time. Considering what the competition has been able to do for years in terms of remote access, schedule tuning and timing this thing is excessively primitive and manual.

Before purchasing it I had thought that for $200 it was a great deal and for some it is, but the overall lack of features can be a turn off for some. That being said I can see this as being a great unit for those that prefer pressing buttons over 'smart' features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty eficient small unit

This is an initial response. I will a write follow up review in a few months time. The unit is compact, lightweight and aesthetically pleasing . The quality is good and it comes across as durable. The noise level of the fan is as follows: 1) like a loud pc fan and not very intrusive, 2) as loud as a medium size air con unit across the room, if next to you, you will have to raise the volume of tv or pc, and 3) pretty loud and I would not sit next to it. A few meters away is manageable.

I bought it to combat the putrid smoke of bushfires and prescribed burns endemic to where I live. We are talking real dense smoke, dense enough to turn streets lights on in the middle of the day, covering the entire place for days on end. So far, it has done a good job of removing most of the particles out of the air. I have noticed a huge difference from before and most of my coughing has been eliminated through this machine. It does also remove odours to a considerable degree. But remember that since it does not have a charcoal filter, it cannot remove the odours completely. However, I have not noticed a smoky aroma in the exhaust air. There are also two nightlight settings which come in handy.

I would say the unit and the filter are doing a great job for the price. The unit does pack a considerable punch for its size and circulate pretty large amounts of air around. I use it predominantly in a large room and the second setting is more than enough. It is mostly on the first. I guess you could clear up a very large living room with the third fan setting. But, for a house you will need something bigger and the product is advertised appropriately. Overall, pretty happy and would recommend this unit.

My follow up review will involve the potential increase in fan noise due to wear and tear, always an issue in mechanical devices, and the longevity of the filter. Hope the above helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clean, quiet and quick

Great little unit for clearing out odors in the apartment. Purchased primarily to assist in managing odor and cooking fragrances in a small unit during winter, where it's less desirable to be opening windows to 'air out' when you have the heater on. The air purifier has no smart stats or detection software - which is fine; we knew what we were purchasing, the more involved or potentially sensitive buyer should look at higher tiers if they want the particle count and detection in their units. Noise wise, at the lower fan setting it is very quiet, something you can easily have run at night without too much disruption to your sleep cycle - on the loudest it is like a PS4 on maximum fan and can be quite noisey but i am sure for most scenarios where you need it, it's only for a short time. To date we have used this to help manage the odors from heater units (that burnt dusty smell), cooking from the stove top and finally general air circulation in the home office. Next step is for spring when the pollen hits - hopefully be able to manage the pollen levels within the house during said season. Overall highly recommend this for your entry level users and even more mature who know what they want and need.

2.0 out of 5 stars It is ok! But not quite effective.

Reduced 20% of dust on fan 3 speed.
The first low speed doesn’t actually do any good. You will start to see effective results somehow on stage 2 and 3 speed, but be aware of the noise level.
Level 1 fan speed is 38db
Level 2 fan speed is 47db
Level 3 fan speed is 57db

The filter is tiny and is not quite effective as well.

Perfect for a small bedroom. Control panel is super easy to use. Lovely basic unit that does exactly what it claims. Happy you can turn off the lights for sleeping. Only thing to be aware of is the noise, even on the lowest level it's actually not as quiet as I thought it'd be. If you're a light sleeper or particular about noise you might want to reconsider. I bought one for my brother and he wanted to like it but couldn't tolerate the noise, gave it to my mum instead who loves it, so it depends on the person. Overall I'd recommend it just because it's a great value for money :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Does a great job overall

I've had the Arovec for half a year now and it has done a great job of reducing dust buildup in my room.

It's very easy to use and reasonably cheap to buy a new filter for it every now and again. The noise levels are quieter then I expected and I keep it on medium 24/7 with no issues.

The only issue I have is the light it emits. While you get to turn the inner light off, the buttons are permanently lit up and make the room a bit brighter at night. Though this issue is only minor for me, others who sleep in pitch black may want to cover the buttons.

Overall very happy with my purchase.

I bought this air purifier for my Studio. It works well. The air smells cleaner (which I didn’t think is notice). There is a level of noise, a little like a fan or air conditioner sound, but I don’t find it intrusive. Having said that, I’m not using it in a bedroom and trying to sleep. Overall, it’s a neat looking unit which does the job well.

Very easy to use and seems to lessen itching nose caused by allergies. I don’t use the night light all night but like the soft glow when I do use it. Noise level is low and actually helps me fall asleep.

Great air filter for a small room, but it needs to be elevated as all the intake can't areas are on the bottom of the machine, which doesn't make it to practical. Noise levels I didn't find too bad, you can have it on low during the night.

The low energy cost is beautiful, the noise level is beautiful, the buying price is above average for the value of the product.

However my only criticism is the length of time it takes to see results.

It takes days to even a week for the difference to be noticed.
