Geraldine Mcewan is a spunky interpretation of the character of Miss Marple. She is both believable and charming in an alarming way and one can believe her intelligence and knack for crime-solving. The episodes or films included in this box set are all superbly entertaining and a desirable addition to your collection. And the price is competitve. If you are an Agatha Christie fan this will delight you in a new adaption. I see a bit of Christie in Mcewan who is both meak and mild. But solidly confident in persuing the truth.
5.0 out of 5 starsGeraldine McEwen is definitely growing on me.

This item contains: The Moving Finger, By the Pricking of my Thumbs, Sleeping Murder and The Sittaford Mystery. I like the overall atmosphere in this series, there is a bit of sleepy old England about it just like in the books. Geraldine McEwen portraits Miss Marple as this sweet old lady who pretends to be scatterbrained and something of a busy body. I find her more and more convincing as miss Marple every time I watch one of these movies.
Being a die hard Joan Hickson fan, I like the twist that these versions give. Geraldine McEwan is very good as Miss Marple, but Joan still best. Very entertaining, and have Series 1 as well.
