A dream is born

20th Century Fox’s story begins in a tiny theater on New York’s Lower East Side. In 1904, fresh from Hungary, 25-year-old William Fox amazed audiences with his magical hand-cranked films. The beginnings were humble – folding chairs, a painted wall for a screen – but the desire to entertain and move people has been at the core of what 20th Century Fox has been doing ever since. By 1915 Fox’s five-cent movie shows were wildly popular and his single screen grew first into a chain of 25 theaters around New York City and then into a movie making business.

Synopsis

The time is the future, the crew aboard a massive commercial space vehicle is en route to earth with a load of extraterrestrial ore when they are sidetracked by mysterious signals from a nearby planet. The signals seem to be calls for help and when the space ship arrives they find a ruined, moldering spacecraft and within it egg-like living organisms. Directed by Ridley Scott and starting Sigourney Weaver.

i bought this old classic last week and i recieved the steelcase edition which was pleasing,its what i thought i was getting but was aware as some other reviewers have stated that they got a slipcase instead,anyway,the steelcase looks good and the dvd has lost none of its class,i dont notice anything really different but its nice to have a so called definitive version,well until the next one pope along.

DVD è un Edizione del 2004. Direi che ha una buona resa anche nelle scene di buio, questo per quanto concerne il video. L'audio a parer mio è limpido e pulito.
Il film in se è un classico che non invecchia mai . Tra gli extra c'è una versione directors cut del film con il commento del regista , versione 2003, ed una versione sempre con commento sia del regista che dei protagonisti , del 1979. Per chi non lo avesse ancora nella propria collezione direi di fare posto per questo DVD .
