I purchased this cable to take advantage of a USB-C port to access an external M.2 SSD drive. While the cable works, it is quite slow, with a write speed of 18 MB/s and read speed of 38MB/s. After switching to the original USB 3.1 cable, the read speed was >360MB/s (which was the maximum that the programme I was using could record). So, if you are looking for a USB-C cable for high speed data transfer, don't purchase this one! Can anyone recommend a USB-C to USB-C that is fast?

It is for my car and the connection is so poor to my phone. It always falls out and is fiddly to get a charge from. Buy cheap, buy twice. It's less than two months old and it's going in the bin. I originally bought it due to the length being suitable for what I needed but I will be buying a quality product next time regardless

Il cavetto è esattamente come descritto, si presenta essenziale e sembra un po' fragile, è davvero sottile.

Non mi è piaciuta molto il fatto che sia un cavo USB 2.0 (quindi trasferimenti LENTISSIMI), sicuramente dovevo leggere meglio il titolo, ma ora che lo standard sta diventando USB-C 3.1, e che questo tipo di porta è famoso per la versatilità e la velocità di trasferimento, proporre un cavetto con il fattore di forma USB-C, ma ancora 2.0 (standard presentato nel 2000, venti anni fa) mi sembra un po' scorretto.
Sarà anche adatto a caricare un telefono, ma ha velocità di trasferimento davvero basse, io non ho mai superato i 35MB/s).
Il mio consiglio è di spendere 3-4€ in più e comprare il cavo USB-C 3.1, che sembra avere una qualità molto più alta ed è 10-20 volte più veloce nel trasferire i file.

Normally Amazon basics are my go-to cables but this was not the case here.
I had read some reviews saying it wouldn't charge certain phones and can confirm this is also the case for the P30 Pro/P30.
The charging just flicked on-off-on-off.
Amazon sent me a second cable just in case it was faulty but this did the same.

Refunded and I bought a TOPK cable and this works fine - ASIN B07MQXXVVS

Description says "Up to 480 Mbps data transfer speed; power output up to 5V, 3 Amp", I already got that out of my existing cable, when I switched to this cable it dropped to 45Mbps.
This cable is useless apart from charging stuff.

Zuerst einmal, das Kabel fühlt sich total billig an, alleine schon weil es sehr dünn ist. Damit würde ich nicht einmal meine GoPro aufladen, da es mit Sicherheit schnell warm/heiß wird (habe ich nicht getestet). Das schlimmste jedoch ist die Datentransferrate ( getestet mit Blackmagic Disk Speed Test auf einem MacBook Pro 15" von 2018 ) an einer externen SSD-Festplatte von SanDisk ( diese schafft 460 MBit/s write und 510 Mbit/s read ). Der Screenshot sagt alles was man über dieses Kabel wissen sollte. Es ist billiger Schrott um den Kunden mal eben 5 Euro aus der Tasche zu ziehen, anders kann ich mir das gar nicht erklären. Man würde doch auch ohne Software merken, dass dieses Kabel einfach nicht mal 10% von den versprochenen 480 Mbit/s leistet, weder read noch write.

I originally bought one of these a couple years ago. I noticed it would only work when plugged in in certain orientations.
As near as I can tell while one side of the cable is properly terminated, the other side of the cable is only connected to one side of the USB-C plug.
Unfortunately, I missed the refund deadline on my original cable and just sort-of lived with it. It lives plugged in to the charger so it wasn't like I had to mess around to figure out the "good end" too often.

But due to a recent move, I had unplug it, and had managed to completely forget about the issue. At me new place I had to sort out the "good end" again, and realized an easy solution: I'd order a new cable and send my clearly defective one back! It still looked fairly new, and it was deffective after all.

Well my new cable arrived last week... and is identical. Same issue, where one end of the cable simply doesn't seem to have both sides of the USB-C plug connected to the wires.
This is more than a two-year gap, so it's definitely from a different batch of cables, so it seems the problem is in the design or manufacting process, not a one-off defect.

And yes, I'm sure it's not my device or my charger, I have used different combinations of devices, chargers, and cables to verify the problem is these Amazon Basics cables.

On the other hand, they are VERY inexpensive. If you need a really basic USB-C to USB-C 2.0 cable (this is NOT a USB 3.0 cable) to charge a phone over a normal "slow charger" (it is also NOT USB-PD compliant), or make a basic data connection, this will work... with a bit of trial an error.

But if you're willing to spend just a few bucks more, buy somthing better. You'll thank me later.
