Anthropoid
Anthropoidis based on the extraordinary true story of 'Operation Anthropoid,' the code name for the Czechoslovakian operatives’ mission to assassinate SS officer Reinhard Heydrich. Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution, was the Reich’s third in command behind Hitler and Himmler and the leader of Nazi forces in Czechoslovakia. The film follows two soldiers from the Czechoslovakian army-in-exile, Josef Gabčík (Cillian Murphy) and Jan Kubiš (Jamie Dornan), who are parachuted into their occupied homeland in December 1941. With limited intelligence and little equipment in a city under lockdown, they must find a way to assassinate Heydrich, an operation that would change the face of Europe forever.

- Nicknamed "The Butcher of Prague"
- Appointed by Adolf Hitler to act as Protector of Bohemia and Moravia, what is now Czech Republic
- Regarded as possibly the darkest, most feared member of the Nazi Elite

It is a brilliant film ,telling of bravery ,tyranny and mans fight against the Nazi regime.
It's a true story that shouldn't be forgotten and this film ensures that we don't forget what the Czech people had to live with.
Well worth watching.

It's a delicate story, which if it had succeeded would have no doubt changed the outcome of the war.
All I can say is excellent attention to detail, and well acted. Would highly recommend.

Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich in Prague in 1942.
Two soldiers Jan Kubis and Jozef Gabcik played by Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy lead an excellent
cast depicting the event which is now part of Czech wartime history.
The film is similar to the earlier Operation Daybreak, but Sean Ellis direction will have you on the edge
of your seat in this retelling of the story.
The torture scenes are pretty horrific but nothing compared to what the real Czech people of the day
actually suffered in reprisals.
Well worth watching.
Approximately 120 minutes viewing
Subtitled in English

I have watched this film numerous times and have never failed to be moved by the horror of the time and the immense cruelty of the Nazi regime.
Sensitive script, acting, direction, and a feeling of really being there ( if you know what I mean)?
After watching this film I searched the Net to obtain books to learn more about this incident and its terrible consequences.
This is not a film to brighten up your day, but one which will make you thank the men and women who gave their lives to make our lives that so much better.
