Blade was made for 4K HDR (pity it's not in Dolby Vision). The blacks and colours look so much better now the Dolby ATMOS is what this movie needed.. Dolby ATMOS is used well.. You'll need good sub woofers to appreciate this movie at it's best.. especially in the nightclub scene. There's no option to change the audio settings to True HD or DTS-X it's Dolby ATMOS by default on the 4K disc.. Supplied also is a standard BLURAY version. A worthy addition to anybody's 4K collection.

Long before Disney took us deep into the Marvelverse there was Blade. A superb telling of the Marvel Daywalker it would still fit nicely into the latest marvel world.

But be warned this is an adult film (even after the passage of time) that still has enough gore to shock.

But it enjoy it and wonder why Blade (even the modern Blade) hasn’t joined Disney’s ranks.

Promises to be a light comedy horror splatter and begins by explaining that the female has been dragged along on an eternal shoot up carnage war between a daylight (daybreaker) Superhero and a nocturnal vampire enemy. Using silver Bullets, stakes and weapons containing garlic. Traci Lords introduces it well as Raquel and an invitation to a Night Club,where she is interrupted and evaporated. It's a traditional horror film that concerns an internal war for control among the vampires that has a design including Blade, here a rogue problem, to the vampires and a solution for the Night Club owners ambitions. The film becomes a Superhero one, a horror Superhero film then or a Superhero Horror film. Swordfighting martial arts,good music, the film became a box office hit around Dusk til Dawn and there is a trilogy after that the certificate (it is an X rated or 18) afterwards reflecting the sequels calming down at a nice 15.

This is the reason us 4K enthusiasts live for a title from almost 22 years ago looking as though it was made this year.
Although a dark film in its nature every scene is filled with detail, gorgeous inky blacks are seen throughout, Blade’s reinforced outfit actually looking inky black, the blood soaked opening looking and dripping like crimson blood. Yes DNR has been used to clean up the film leaving some softer scenes but you know what I don’t care, I’ll let the grain lovers have their moan on YouTube about this title and cannot get why they would actually not want to see the film looking the best it can ever by having the grain removed. A perfect title to showcase doubters of the format that older films given the love and care can look like a brand new title.
