Tom Quinn has written on everything from steam railways, to country houses, the royal family, fishing, country crafts. He has also written biographies of children’s author BB, Royal Servant Backstairs Billy, and king’s mistress Mrs Alice Keppel. His book, London’s Strangest Tales remains one of the best-selling books ever about the capital.

He is also the author of four highly praised biographies of domestic servants, as well as biographies of the late Queen Mother’s favourite servant Backstairs Billy and of Edward VII’s favourite mistress, Alice Keppel. He has written for the Times, The Telegraph and Daily Mail as well as for numerous magazines.

He often appears on BBC TV, ITV and radio to comment on anything to do with eccentrics, social history, London history or the royal family.
