4.0 out of 5 starsReally Great

I absolutely love Asher and Briar!
This is a really great start to this group of characters and I can't wait for more.
I loved their relationship, the push and pull and aaaaallllll the angst.

The *only* thing I really wished was that Briar was a smidge older. Like in the very beginning she is 14 and Asher is 17. I get that nothing *major* happened, and I feel like the relationship is very believable at this age (Based on my own recollection of teens at that age), but I would have felt slightly less icky if Briar had been even 15.
Throughout the book I just kept wondering why she was 17 and not 18. I think it would have been absolutely perfect if Briar had *just* been that one year older.

3.0 out of 5 starsDecent read

This was more like a 3.5 star read. I loved that the heroine wasn’t waiting around for the hero, and actually tried to move on with her life, but I did find the hero a little too passive for my liking (why I couldn’t rate it higher). Not a fan of heroes who stay away for reasons (and sulk) and it takes a third party to tell them what to do before going after the heroine. Dare was right to call him what he did…but the hero and heroine got their HEA in the end so I guess that’s that.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was okay.

I don’t want to say it or go there but if I’m going to be honest about this review then I’ll have to say two reasons why.

3 stars, it could have been worse cause I wanted to give it 2 stars.

First. Briar. I don’t like her. I just felt like she was this hormonal 14yo that just didn’t care about anything but Ash. There was so much of this story that I didn’t think I’d get to like but hey it’s fiction what do I know. Okay, Briar!! Now fast forward to 17yo Briar and I still don’t like her. Everything up to that point I just felt like how can someone so young be invested in this type of chemistry or lust or love. Anyways what I mean is that, maybe it’s possible. Still, did I like her in the end. Maybe just a little since she turned 18years old. 🤦🏽‍♀️
Second. Asher. Now don’t get me wrong he’s all things bad and you should never lust after a boy/man way older than you cause of the consequences. But, Ash sorry you should have known better than to lip lock someone that’s younger. Hey, I still think he’s hot and bad too 😉

Now this story despite the age difference, (as you know I don’t like) have amazing characters that makes this story go round. The big brother Dash and best friends Adrian and even an amazing and cool BFF, and how can you not enjoy a story with some crazy and jealous exes, to bad parenting.

DNF 50%. I must say that I am an impatient reader and if there are secrets to reveal then the story has to keep my interest until the reveal. For me, this was not the case. It was immature at times, and whilst I did like Asher and Briar, and they were hot together, it just was not enough. I am in the minority here, and will say that for many readers this would work, but it was too YA for me and as I ended it at 50% I will not know how it ends, it may turn out a great read, but I don’t have the patience to find out.

Don't know what to make of it. I ended up reading it to the end but I found it very hard to connect or relate with the characters or storyline. Definitely not my cuppa tea.

The plot started off so good! I was drawn in right away by Asher and Briar. But at about the 50% mark... she lost me. It went downhill SO fast! Cliches abound in the second half, the characterization somehow becomes weaker in every character, the plot lowkey makes no sense (the main couple just skims over the miscommunication because they’re “communicating with their bodies”... no the author is just drawing the plot out). And the ending was so cringey. So cringey.

I’ve heard good things about the second book in the series so I might pick it up later!

Could not finish this book because I was disgusted by the fact that it's so sexual when it involves a child under the age of 18. As a matter of fact it starts with her being 14 and the guy just out of high school. No thank you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Book good but delivery very bad and dirty!

This book is really really good and I am definitely about to buy the 2nd and last chapter of this series, however the delivery came not as good as I was hoping for. My book was very dirty on the corners and at the bottom and top of the book covers. Inside it's fine, but outside it got too much than it should!
