UPDATE: i know find The Return of the Joker is the sanitised cut. I have the US release of the uncut version from years ago - this is not it. Add the inferior format and now this I am sadly not impressed.
Paul Dini and Bruce Timm did an amazing job with these animated shows in the 90's. 41 of the 52 episodes have been remastered, however the 11 have merely been up-scaled so there will be a slight blur in comparison. The Return of the Joker movie gets an uncut release, too and is included in this collection. However The Return of the Joker did not get the same treatment and is only on DVD. Strange choice, aye, since they went to so much trouble remastering 75% of the show for Blu-ray, however it is still nice that it is included. It is not a enough to take a star off for... There is an asterisk * on the front of the packaging; Example: Blu-ray and DVD*, with information on the back stating the Joker movie is only on DVD.
The exclusive Pop is a nice edition, too. 52 episodes and a movie; this collection is great value for any Batman fans, old and new!!!

Batman Beyond (TV Series but not the film, the reasons for which will soon be clarified) looks absolutely stunning on HD Blu-ray Disc!
I already owned the UK Compatible SD DVDs released back in 2006-2007 (ASINs: B000CSTK42, B000GYI336 and B000LE1798 respectively; these were repackaged on SD DVD at least twice with a bonus disc as a Complete Series box set without 'Return of The Joker') and I can tell you that the fine detail and vibrant colours make this pretty impressive over-all. This is an excellent presentation of an older programme. Some later episodes have reportedly been upscaled from a video source rather than film but still look fantastic when compared to my older DVDs.
This is less of a full product review and more of a warning to UK customers describing the minor failings of Warner Brothers Home Entertainment (UK) to give our local UK market the box set that it really should have gotten... In short, NO UK DIGITAL COPIES and 'Return of The Joker' is the EDITED TV Version (2000) and is also on a DVD rather than a Blu-ray Disc. The SD DVD should also really state that is contains 'Batman of the Future' for the sake of accuracy since I initially found the disc labelling to be misleading. I'm not sure if this quite rises to the level of being false advertising, but it certainly felt pretty close to it. I immediately bought another copy of 'Return of The Joker' on German Blu-ray Disc this time to effectively work-around this oversight by Warner (UK).
If you want the film UNCUT then import either the entire 2019 American version of this set OR you can buy a German import of the FILM only and put that Blu-ray Disc in your UK Batman Beyond box in place of the SD DVD as I did.
This box set does not include the UNCUT 'Return of The Joker' animated movie plus the EDITED SD DVD included in this UK set is most obviously not a Blu-ray Disc.
There is no Digital Copy Code for the UK market.
Batman [of the Future] Beyond is a television series within the DC Animated Universe (DCAU or Timm-verse) and is a direct continuation or sequel to Batman: The Animated Series/The Adventures of Batman and Robin/The New Batman Adventures (1992-1999). This TV series never received a an optical disc-based physical media release. Making this 2019 Blu-ray release appearing in the UK market something of a small miracle.
Batman Beyond got its own more child-friendly spin-off 'The Zeta Project' which ran for two seasons and various 'Static Shock' and 'Justice League: Unlimited' tie-ins or cross-overs. These are available as US imports on SD DVD. For the purposes of this review I do feel the need to mention 'Epilogue' the final episode of the second block of 13 episodes of 'Justice League: Unlimited' that ties everything in the DCAU together through Project Batman Beyond. The series was then renewed for 13 new episodes at the last minute.
Justice League: Unlimited - The Complete Series (39 Episodes, 3 US Broadcast Seasons on 3-Discs) (Warner Archive Collection) [NTSC] [Region Free] [Blu-ray] [2015 ]
Blu-ray Disc Release Date: 10 November 2015
Note: 'Epilogue' on Disc 02.
Many years ago, the censored 'Batman of the Future: Return of The Joker' (2000) did get a 12 Certificate by the BBFC when released on VHS cassette/tape - but that was about it. Luckily, the 2002 UNCUT American Standard-Definition DVD was coded to play in the first four domestic SD DVD Regions (1-4) and was therefore an NTSC UK Coded/Compatible disc. The 2002 SD DVD has been repackaged many times over the years, however not EVERY time - so research always helps. The UNCUT American 2011 Blu-ray Disc is Region Free.
What makes this confusing is the fact that the exact same Blu-ray for 'Return of The Joker' already has a European Blu-ray Disc release. A GERMAN release happened and it was a direct-port of the USA/Canada disc. Warner Brothers (UK) therefore should have licenced the film for inclusion here!!
Amazon UK recently changed their search results system again. This means that using the EAN/APN/UPC Product Barcode Number is no longer reliable in 2019, gee thanks Amazon!! The site now re-directs you to the closest in-stock equivalent. Barcode numbers can still be used to search other sites on the internet for information. The ASIN for the Amazon product page still works.
I own multiple copies of 'Return of The Joker' and was therefore unaffected by the inclusion of an inferior UK 2019 Region 2 and 4 Coded PAL EDITED Version SD DVD in this box set being any kind of factor in whether I purchased the USA or UK version.
It just makes no sense!!!

UNCUT SD DVD Audio Options: English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround-Sound.
UNCUT SD DVD Subtitle Options: English SDH, French.
The EDITED version is 1.33:1 4:3 and the UNCUT PG-13 version on SD DVD is a [soft-matte] 4:3 encoded Non-Anamorphic 1.78:1 Letter-Boxed Widescreen version by the creators' own choice (as per Justice League Season 2) that crops the vertical image to achieve the Widescreen image. Why this was a Non-Anamorphic release just baffles the mind!! The creators did this to make the film look more cinematic and would have intended a 1.85:1 aspect if possible.
The Blu-ray Disc is UNCUT but is an Open-Matte 1.33:1 Pillar-Boxed (black bars to the left and right of the image) transfer. This was done to showcase the full available visual image within the frame (no cropping) and is 16:9 encoded in as much as to say it forces the true 4:3 shape on a 16:9 screen (Forced Pillar-Boxing and not square TV 'Full-Frame').

Note: I own the 2011 USA 2-Disc Combo-Pack (ASIN: B004L9GM3A; UPC: 883929159543). It was Out-Of-Print for a while, but the single-disc Blu-ray Disc only reissue had identical specifications in the USA, Canada and Germany.

Now, back to THIS UK Product/Box Set.
Batman Beyond: The Complete Series is a Limited Individually Numbered (sticker) Edition of 50,000 Copies. You get an exclusive Chrome Batman Beyond (Terry/Batman) Funko Pop! and four lenticular art cards inside the pack/box. Where there may be some issues is with the Episode Guide gate-fold style mini-booklet which seems to have just been rather awkwardly rammed into any remaining available space between the Blu-rays and the lenticular cards. Mine was crumpled-up (damaged). Also, the guide doesn't mention any content details for 'Return of The Joker' on DVD. I'm not a fan of the way the discs are held in place so I may use a 6-way Amaray DVD case to store the discs with another DC title on DVD (I also bought the French SD DVD of the edited ROTJ a while back). I'm generally very happy with the components (Blu-ray Disc TV Series and Blu-ray Bonus Disc) I didn't own before now - storage is a personal choice.
Discs number the episodes 01-13 even during the 26 episode Season 02 so I'll just keep going up until 52.

CONCLUSION: As of November 2019 UK customers would still be able to IMPORT or BUY DIRECTLY FROM AMAZON UK 'Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker' (UNCUT) on Blu-ray Disc to place within the packaging for their UK SET if they choose to buy the UNCUT film. For approximately 10 pounds (as of 02 November 2019, sans postage costs) I would certainly recommend seriously considering the German Blu-ray for 'Return of The Joker' as a viable alternative option if you are unsure of larger or more expensive international/foreign imports. There are no Digital Copy Codes included for the series or the film at all so some people may be disappointed by that. I'm still a physical media collector and already owned the film on Blu-ray. For me the UK box set gets me all of the HD content I didn't already own as of 2019.
Amazon is an international company. As of November 2019 UK customers MAY choose to try to import the USA version containing the 2011 Blu-ray Disc (UNCUT) for 'Return of The Joker'. Digital Copies are not redeemable outside of the original licenced territory (USA). Other Third-Party Amazon Marketplace Sellers may list the USA version of this in the future.
Batman Beyond: The Complete Series (Deluxe Limited Edition) 6-Discs (included Digital Copy code not licenced for UK redemption/use) [US IMPORT] [NTSC] [Region Free] [Blu-ray] [2019 ]

This SERIES still comes highly recommended from me.
Great value for money although in hind-sight, from a pricing perspective, I'd probably have been better buying this from Amazon Global Store/Amazon USA from right here on Amazon UK. They are a third-party Amazon Marketplace Seller but offer all of the customer service options you can rely on from the UK/European arm of the company. I initially pre-ordered the US IMPORT from the American Amazon US site for a staggering 103 pounds-ish and so paying only seventy pounds (33 pounds less) for the UK version of the box set at the time seemed my best option to get the content I wanted on a format I didn't already own. Most of my additional costs in the pre-order would have been faster postage fees and the pre-paid Import Fees Deposit to get the goods cleared through UK Customs. Amazon refund the difference if the don't need the full amount you paid towards this (I often use Amazon USA for these reasons).
I went for the UK set but others may choose the USA import... It's all down to personal choice.
Good luck to you all.
3 out of 5 stars due to the 'Return of The Joker' situation here in the UK!
The voice cast is brilliant with Kevin Conroy returning as Bruce Wayne.
These adventures add something new to a familiar world. Having a new person take the mantle of batman and a updated design. New villains work really well. Some being more occurring than others.
The only downside to this set is that in the U.K. the return of the joker movie is Infact the original region 2 dvd. Rather than the region free blu Ray. So even the opening titles say “batman of the future” rather than batman beyond. As well as it being the censored version cutting out moments of violence. Although this isn’t noticeable if you weren’t aware of the changes initially.
There are only three series. But series 2 is literally twice the length as season 1 and 3 so in a sense you kind of get 4 seasons worth of episodes. Plus a disc of bonus features as well as the movie. So certainly a complete collection of all you need.
Overall it’s a great series that, although I hadn’t seen since I was a child, holds up very well. And is still very entertaining for anyone a fan of batman or dc in general. It’s certainly worth picking up for anyone fans of the dcau as it’s very much the bookend to that universe.
Certainly worth a purchase and you can usually find it at a decent enough price as well
