I went into this series sceotically as a huge fan of the 90's animated series, however i am happy to say that this is a very good new take on the charactor. It is aimed much more squarley at the childrens market, and the anime style and animation are a complete departure from what i have seen before, however it all comes together to make a satisfying and unique take on the subject.
I have mixed feelings about the new takes on traditional enemies with some being not to my taste (Joker/Penguin) but i found some to be inspired (Clayface). Setting this in the 'young' Batman time period means that there is a lot more idealism and energy, which is an interesting change, as well as a much more 'technocentric' take on the charactors which is a real breath of fresh air.
Incidentally i really like the new intro music and find myself humming it randomly throughout the day.
I would recommend this to all batman fans, especially those 10-14yr olds who might be looking for a cool modern way to get to know the Batman universe
