A heartbreaking true crime read. I wasn't familiar with this case, despite living in Australia too. Katherine X -was horrifically abused by her father for over 30 years and had children to him. It was a disturbing read, not just for what her father did, but also for how many people over the years were either aware of what was going on or had suspicions and yet took no action to try to help her. Thank God for the few people in her life who did rally to help her and showed up when it counted to help get her father found guilty. As heartbreaking of a read as it is, it was also inspiring in that despite everything that this lady has gone through she has remained positive and a loving and functional person. Well done Katherine you manage to keep your dignity and have comparison for the authorities that consistently letting you down and the people of Australia down. I hope we make enough changes to save other children. Mental health should also be looked at.
