The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonising low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life. Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her...even if it means breaking both their hearts.
Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California - and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place. As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one... With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfill her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.
In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all.

I was a little unsure and worried about where this book would go after Hallowed but I ended up loving it.
If you’re a fan of Tucker then you’ll definitely want to read this book.

My Review
I think this will be a rather short review because I don't have anything to say that I haven't said before. Like 'Unearthly' and 'Hallowed' before it, 'Boundless' blew me away with how much I enjoyed it. I fell straight back in effortlessly even though it'd been six months since I read 'Hallowed'. I remembered who everyone was without much prompting at all, it was amazing!
I am so pleased that at last there's a final in a trilogy that hasn't dissapointed me in some way or another. 'Boundless' delivered everything I wanted and more. I cannot believe that Cynthia Hand doesn't have more fans! She's awesome!
The plot took turns I was expecting and needed and also took me places I'd never even thought I'd go and that was a gift. It was the perfect mix of surprise and acceptance as I strolled around the world with Clara and Christian.
While I'm on Christian and Clara, I must say how much I loved them. They were perfect. Faulted and real. And Clara's wit was just right. She made jokes that I would make, unlike other books where the characters are just too unbelievably funny. I loved how these angel-bloods felt human.
And there's not much else to say. I loved it all the way through. I couldn't put it down and I cried. What else can you ask from a reader?

'Boundless' was everything I wanted and needed and more from the finale in the trilogy.

In Boundless, we see Clara, Angela and Christian heading off to college. They all head off to Stanford College because that's where Angela's vision takes place and she wants her friends to be with her.
Clara went through a hell of a lot in Hallowed and she's trying to deal with everything now. She seems to be dealing well with what happened - but obviously she's still upset. She's definitely a lot stronger in this book. She's got a lot resting on her shoulders and I loved Clara even more in this one.
Christian is still one of my favourite guys ever. He's sweet and kind, but he can have his moments when his anger flares up and it's generally due to Clara. I learnt a lot more about Christian in this one and there were moments when my heart broke for him.
Angela is still as awesome as ever. She's keeping something from her friends in this one and it took a while for me to figure out what it was and I was completely shocked when I found out. Her whole character changed in this one, but there was a reason for it and I loved the change in Angela.
Even though Clara moved to California to be away from Tucker, he still appears in Boundless quite a lot. Tucker is angry with Clara and acts like a jerk (it's totally justified), but he's still one of the most adorable guys ever. Tucker definitely won me back over in this one (and I didn't even realise until that moment at the end - if you've read it, you know what moment I'm taking about).
I honestly didn't think Cynthia Hand was going to be able to make Boundless better than Hallowed, but she did! Everything about this book drew me in and I just couldn't put it down! I had to know what was going to happen with Angela and her vision; what the hell was going on with Jeffrey; what Clara and Christian's vision was all about and who on earth this new evil guy was! Cynthia Hand completely surpassed my expectations with this book and it was a brilliant end to this trilogy.
The love triangle in this series is one that's constantly had me going back and forth. I love both Tucker and Christian, but there were times when I loved one or the other more depending on the situation. In the end, I was happy with how the love triangle turned out. Mostly because there was a specific event that almost crushed me and it was that moment that I knew which boy had won my heart. So I was definitely happy with how it worked out, but I just wish everyone could have had their happy ending.
Overall, Boundless was a terrific ending to the Unearthly trilogy. I'm really sad to let all of these characters go because I love them all, but I know that this is definitely a series that I'll be getting around to re-reading one day because I absolutely loved it.

I finally got to read the last book in this series and it was a bit bittersweet for me, saying 'goodbye'. I think this series will remain one of my favourites. Clara will be one of my favourite female protagonists and I will always, always love Tucker Avery.
This book didn't go in the direction I thought it would - it really did surprise me. There were certain feelings I had when I started reading this book: I believed that Clara had closed the door to Tucker (and no matter how much I loved him and them I was fine with that. I've never read a book where the character I loved didn't end up with the protagonist, but you know, Christian isn't too bad and I was open to Clara ending up with him, if it came to that.) And I also was convinced this would be the book where Christian would sway me (I didn't warm to him in Hallowed.)
But the trouble was neither of these things happened. Clara encounters Tucker a few times and every time she did, it was painful and she missed him. And it made me miss him so much he hurt. And I also thought things would be easier with Christian but they aren't, and just like Clara, I couldn't stop thinking about Tucker around Christian. I liked Christian and even though he is meant to be Clara's soulmate, I never truly got that, no matter how much I thought I would.
Beyond those two, the story delves in ways I didn't see coming, involving more Angela, and thankfully, some of Jeffrey too. The ending had me in knots and is very fast-paced, but at the same time it seemed a little rush. When the epilogue came up, I felt like there was so much left still to say. But oh well, I still very much enjoyed this book. It took me on a journey and made me feel such strong emotions like the first two did (joy and giddiness with Unearthly, sadness and hurt with Hallowed and with this book it was a bit of both). I really do hope Cynthia Hand writes more books with such fantastic characters as she has created here.

What a wondrous finale to an amazing series, it had everything I hoped for and more. Claras character had to overcome a lot of challenges throughout this book, she made decisions which would effectively change her future but in the end she got the main thing that she's wanted right from the start. I was rooting for an alternative ending but hey you can't always get what you want! A girl can dream though...
I don't want to say too much in this review without giving away a lot to the people who haven't read the series yet so I'll try to summarise my feelings briefly.
In this book we see Clara, Christian and Angela head to Stanford University. I thought that this was going to be great and we'd see the gang have a lot of epic adventures however it was apparent that we wouldn't get this right from the offset. I understand that angel-bloods don't get to live a "normal" human life but it would've been nice to see them let their hair down and have a little fun every now and then. With Clara and Christian trying to figure out their visions and Angela off getting herself into a whole other kind of trouble we don't really get to see much of their university life. However it was nice to see Clara settle down into this new life without letting the events of the previous book take over her.
We are greeted by familiar faces throughout the book, some of which more welcome than others but it was nice to see them regardless of who they are. However what I liked the most was the development of Clara's relationship with Samjeeza. I've found myself thoroughly disliking him in the previous books but with this one we get to see him in a different light. With the death of Claras mother, the love of his life looming over his shoulders we learn that all he wants from Clara is a story about his love. There's another side to his character we didn't know about until now and we see this shine through as he helps Clara through some tough times. Seeing this new side of his character really helped me understand why he's as sinister as he is. It also made reading the scenes with him in quite enjoyable, as at times they were amusing.
I really liked the development of both Clara and Christian's characters throughout this final book as it was nice to see them grow stronger as a pair. However I did feel sorry for Christian as you could see that he loved Clara deeply and it pained him to see her still hung up on someone else. Regardless I feel that they made an awesome team and I loved every minute that they were together!
The book was fast paced with something always going on, this is great as it meant that I was sat on the edge of my seat for the majority of it. There was never a dull moment in this book and everything that happens throughout the story all builds up to the main event. I really enjoyed the world building in this book as a lot of the time I felt like I was in the scene with the characters. I was able to imagine what everything would look like and how I would feel if I was there too.
Like the books before this it was beautifully written, Cynthia Hand has the ability to write such a dark plot-line and make it seem lovely. You can tell that the author has carefully researched the subject that the book is focused around as she goes into a lot of depth when it comes to the plot-line and world development. I feel that the book ended abruptly which was a shame as I would've liked to have known what happened to a few of the characters once they got a little bit of freedom. But with it already being 432 pages long I can see that she didn't want to drag it out much longer. This series has kept me thoroughly entertained and I can't wait to see more from this author in the future.
