A retelling of beauty and the beast. Easy read, good banter between the characters.
Lots of chemistry between Adam and Danielle. I enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspired by Beauty and the Beast

This arranged marriage romance had a Beauty and the Beast theme and let me tell you I was all for it!Adam Pierce is the rich recluse that has locked himself away in a mansion after the death of his brother Sebastian. He has stopped living and is merely existing until he meets Danielle Bellamy, who works for an art gallery and was paid to personally hand deliver a particular piece of artwork to his home. Amongst the drama, and angst there were some really wonderful side characters who I'm hoping will be get to see a lot more of in this series. They each have a brother that is equal parts innapropriate and hysterical! There was some very hot chemistry between these two, and Danielle's side project of photography definitely turned up the steam factor between these two. I really enjoyed this one. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absorbing emotional read!

Adam was changed after the accident that not only killed his younger brother, but left him more damaged than the physical scarring. The torment of his mind begged for revenge, of a life taken before it's time. To destroy that man responsible regardless of who he hurt in the process. Danielle was to be the instrument of his revenge. He had not wanted to care for her until it was impossible not too. She bought light into his dark world and and allowed him to feel love for the first time. Danielle had scars of her own, she knew the pain of loss and the remorse of time wasted. Through her art she found her own salvation and purpose and her love for Adam became his salvation. This book was an absorbing, emotional read. When we lose someone in death it leaves those behind suffering the regrets of what might have been. Adam was a complex man who retreated from living a normal life, when his revenge hurts the one he loves most, he realizes the enormity of what he has done and seeks her forgivness and because of her love she gives it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twist on Beauty and the Beast
Reviewed in Australia on 21 November 2021
Broken Beast by Crystal Kaswell. This is a very dark and sinister romance revolving between Adam and Danielle. Adam was changed after the accident that not only killed his younger brother, but left him more damaged than the physical scarring. The torment of his mind begged for revenge, of a life taken before it's time. To destroy that man responsible regardless of who he hurt in the process. Danielle was to be the instrument of his revenge but what will he do when he starts to develop feelings for the enemy? Read to find out the rest of the story, you won't regret it!

I highly recommend giving this story a go. Its an amazing addition to this authors already impressive line-up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully broken

Broken Beast and his ‘Broken Beauty’. Adam and Danielle are both so broken and it makes their story intensely beautiful. Erotic and tainted, harsh scars and deep emotions, passion and fear. Somewhere along the way in Adam’s flawed plan, his revenge against one man got lost in the art, body and desire of the woman he tried to use to exact his vengence, but ended up falling in love with.

2.0 out of 5 stars Almost didn't finish.

I don't really know where to start with this book. I think it comes down to the author's writing style is just not for me. I found it really tedious to read and really almost didn't finish. And so many weird factors! The relationship she has with her brother is just disturbing. And why a millionaire business man decided to marry some random woman rather than go after his enemy's company/assets etc is completely baffling. Just not for me. If you like the fake fiance trope, there are way way better books out there.
