40 years of sadness 😔

This book kept me hooked, finding out what happened to you a young women 40 years earlier was not going to be easy but with the right people and new technologies now available will Tracy find the truth and finally give peace to the family? I loved how all the pieces fit together. So many lives were effected by this tragedy, lies and secrets.

I really enjoyed these easy read books and found them to be page turners. I favour gritty crime stories and these definitely fit the bill for me.

I would definitely read more from Robert Dugoni.

I have read the books 1 and 2 of the Tracey Cross white mysteries and can't speak more highly of both of them.

It appears you lost the plot with book 3 "In The Clearing."

This book has to be one of the worst books I have read, it is as slow as a wet week, there is more filler in it than the Empire State Building. It appears you were committed to a book you had no idea how to put the story line together. It was totally crap.

We have pre ordered book 4, I hope it is much better than book 3, if not I suggest you go back to the start and rewrite it again. You can't be that silly to write two dud books one after the other. It's your reputation you have to maintain.

Perhaps I'm expecting too much from Robert Dugoni, the first two in the Tracy Crosswhite series were exceptional but the third was just a good detective novel, I hope the series improves as I will continue to read this series.

I really enjoy these Tracy Crosswhite crime stories by Robert Dugoni, especially as one can read them as 'stand alone' novels. 'In the Clearing' has a terrific plot; we follow Tracy Crosswhite & her colleagues as they investigate two crimes, one of which occurred 40 years ago. I hadn't expected two separate story lines from reading the description about the book on Amazon, but as far as I am concerned, this was a bonus ... two separate story lines, running concurrently through the novel, all for the price of one.
I particularly enjoyed the 'cold case' story-line. I won't spoil your enjoyment by revealing too much about the plot but Robert Dugoni's style of writing is so effective that as I read it I found myself reminiscing about my high school days in Canada in the late 1960s (even though this story is set in northern USA and the mid 1970s)! The cold case story features more prominently in the book than the case set in the modern day and I think the book is the better for this. I found the cold case far more interesting to follow as Tracy Crosswhite and her colleagues use current developments in forensic science to uncover new evidence that would not have been available forty years earlier. The only (minor) criticism I would have is the convenience of having so much evidence available to work with 40 years on. The second case takes a different angle as Tracy and her colleagues attempt to discover if the person who has admitted to a murder actually committed it or if they were covering up for the actions of someone else. Sorry, but you'll have to read the story to find out.
So overall, another terrific book from Robert Dugoni that I hope you will find as enjoyable to read as I did.
