There is yet another mystery and another part of Scotland to explore while Logan and his crew seek to expose another killer. What holds this series together so well are the very different characters that work together bringing another criminal to face failure.
It's a wonderful series, and very addictive.

Something's wild out west...
When a badly burned body is found near the remote Ardnamurchan Lighthouse on the west coast of Scotland, it feels like just another day on the job for DCI Jack Logan and his team.
But the victim’s list of enemies―including a diminutive loan shark and a powerful local politician―is far longer than Jack was prepared for.
And don’t even get him started on the magic psychic sex cult.
With political scandal brewing, conspiracy theories running wild, and a team member stuck inside a giant road safety squirrel costume, DCI Logan’s latest case might just be his most bizarre to date.
Come Hell or High Water is the thirteenth book in the multi-million selling DCI Logan Scottish Crime Fiction series. Packed with action, pathos, and dark humour, the series is perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

There is not one of JD Kirks DCI Logan Crime Thriller books that I haven’t loved & this latest was no exception. They are the only books that make me laugh out loud at times whilst involving me in a gripping story. The on going characters that form the team are in every book and as I read the last page I’m always a tad sad to be leaving them. For those that like a great story & crime thrillers with some suspense but humour thrown in then I highly recommend JD Kirks books and writing.

Another great read! I love the characters and the twists and turns in the plot. The humour between the characters is fantastic, you get a laugh whilst reading a crime thriller! Very enjoyable, can’t wait for the next book in May!

Could not stop reading this - had to read it in one sitting. I've been following DI Logan and his team since -- forever. I love the characters. One minute I'm laughing, the next caught up in the suspense and wondering where it's going from here and the next laughing again. DI Logan and his crew do it again. Thank you JD Kirk. I love your style. Can't wait for your next DI Logan.

I love DCI Logan. He's funny and rough around the edges but he definitely cares. It is not magic but he is smart and puts things together. Highly recommend.

Set in a bleak part of the world, inhabited by weird characters, a clever CDI assisted by bumbling staff, stumbles on a crime, and manages ,in spite of all, to end up solving it.

Set in heighlads of Scotland, featuring a rough tough DCI and his irreverent gang of colluges.
I liked the writing style featuring sections from the different points of view of the protagonists.

Got this as soon as it came out. Tried to put off reading it, really did. Fell in love with all of the team ❤️ again. Tried really hard to take it easy on reading but failed miserably. Brilliant book yet again from JD Kirk.

One hell of a read

Cannot wait for a DCI Logan book and l promised myself l would keep this for Christmas. Couldn't manage it and started to read what has to be the very best book in the series. It is full of cop humour and at one stage l was laughing so much l got out of breath as l could visualise the scene. The storyline is as taut as ever as we are led through the clues and keeps you turning page after page as its gets more frenetic. The twist in the tale is one you will never see coming until it happens and then it is Tyler who actually saves the day. A great read, yes. A more than 5 star read, definitely.

An entertaining read

I don't want to lie and say that this was my favorite in the series because I did find the plot a bit too sparse, but I still found the characters and general telling entertaining.
I felt that at times there were filler sections included which were there to raise a smile - and they did - but I do still like a bit of meat in my bap if you know what I mean. I just felt that the plot needed a bit more depth and development, instead of it all coming in the last 20%.
As much as I love this team of characters, love the banter and love the development I do still want a proper plot too. Dare I say that some parts I realised I was skimming because it did just feel like funny fan-pleasing filler, particularly Dave being undercover.

Read all of the DCI Logan series. Don't want to make the writer big headed or anything, but this is right up there with the best of the best in the genre. Having been in the company (socially!) of Scots polis I can identify with the heavy duty polis humour throughout... Great story and believable though very funny characters. Would like to see it made into a TV series though how they would cope with the scene involving bare "bahookies" I don't know. (Read the book!). Had to write "bahookies" because Amazon wouldn't let me use the word actually used in the book. R Souls.

This book arrived on my Kindle this morning at 9am. I've just finished reading, at 14.30 all in one sitting as I found it completely impossible to put down. Oh why do I do that? I wait patiently for it then, like a box of chocolates, I can't stop myself guzzling the whole box or book, in this case! Mr. Kirk has, again, surpassed himself with this story. The characters are evolving so much, it's a joy to read. Again, the humour is there which had me holding my sides with laughter at certain points. I really enjoyed the fact Dave had more of a role although not quite the one he was hoping for I hazard a guess!! I also liked how another of my top 5 authors character was involved in the story - very clever. On the whole, the charm of this series of books is increasing each time. Please keep writing the DCI Logan series, I'm sure there is still a lot to come. Bravo JD, a job well done.

Bit let down

Couldn't wait to start this next chapter but from the start I didn't feel drawn into the story as I usually do. Most of the reviews I read said they enjoyed the banter between Jack & his team & I did in previous books. But only a quarter through it was getting on my nerves. Yes some of it made me laugh out loud but I wanted a gritty detective novel with the usual amount of banter. The story was not a strong as usual & I feel more effort should have been made in the storyline with alot less banter. Felt like there was more banter than story. Will still follow Jack & the team & eagerly await the next chapter but hope we can get back to being a crime not a comedy novel.
