Elena Suarez went on Marry Mr. Perfect to get recognized. She wants to be an actress. She wasn't planning on falling in love. But she did and got her heart broken and was lied to by Daniel, Mr. Perfect. Due to the art of T.V. and editing she also got a nickname, the slutty suitorette. Now the show is over, it has been dropped by the network and she is trying to live down the nickname she was left with.
Adam Dylan, secret service to the President, was quietly fired due to leaving his detail to save a woman in a burning building. Now he has a "hero" status he hates, and he is a bodyguard to the rich and famous. He isn't sure he likes his job much either. He was given a house by the mother of the woman he rescued but doesn't feel it is his, he isn't feeling like anything is his anymore.
Elena and Adam meet at the wedding of one of the suitorettes. He takes care of a jerk that is trying to have his way with Elena, just another man thinking of her as the slutty suitorette, he found her cornered in a bathroom by the guy and very graciously walked him out of the wedding reception. After he did that Elena and Adam talked a bit. When it was time to leave Elena walked down to the beach where the wedding took place and Adam followed her, they talked a lot more. He ended up giving her his card and told her to call him for a date when and if she wanted to. She told him he shouldn't get mixed up with her, since trouble was all around her.
Needing to live down her reputation, she feels she needs to leave the old Elena behind and become a new Elena. Adam seems to think he needs to live up to his reputation as the hero or good guy, but really needs to find himself again.
These two will meet again when something happens and Elena has to call Adam for protection. As the story moves along and the crap keeps piling up for Elena she finds that one person is always right there for her, Adam. He gets the real her, and likes her anyway. Their story is funny, sad, and crazy. You will love it.

Lizzie Shane has done a wonderful job with this latest addition to her series. I have to say I think this is my favorite of the five. She handles how women are treated very well in this book. When women do certain things they are humiliated and degraded, but when men do the same things they are held to a higher standard. The mix of personalities between Elena and Adam was perfect, you really got dragged right into the book with them. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance that is so true to life, meaning not all wine and roses, these two had to face some really tough issues that could tear people apart.
Buy this book and enjoy it, I know I did!!

When a man and a woman get involved in a sexual act, why is it more likely for the woman to get the negative attention than the man? This is the question the author tried to address in the book. An aspiring actress, Elena, goes on reality TV show Marrying Mr. Perfect to be "unforgettable" so as to land oscar-winning roles for herself. Once there, she gets caught up in the romance of the show and the concept of happily ever after, and imagining herself in love, goes after the "Mr. Perfect" with everything in her arsenal, including sex appeal. Unfortunately, rather than attracting the attention of talent-hunters of hollywood, she ends up attached to the hashtag of "Slu**y Suitorette" thanks to public. Throughout the book she is trying to deal with the backlash from her actions not only on the reality TV, but some poor-decisions she made post-show. I thought the author tried to make a good story out of Elena's troubles, while pointing out how sexist society can be in treatment of women vs men for sexual behavior. My only critique of the book is that I would have liked to read more on how the protagonist dealt with the problem to come out the winner (which only took up the last 10% of the book - mostly in the epilogue), rather than her agonizing over how society was so unfair to women. I was mostly disappointed to keep on reading the female lead paint herself with the same brush the public was painting her with - if you cant stick up for yourself, how do you expect the public to stick up for you? The male lead gave her the confidence to think better of herself, but that epiphany happened too late in the book.

I was pleasantly suprised by the quality of this book - it was an interesting but relevant angle (a la "The Bachelor") and it struck more chords in feminism and the general injustice of gender roles than I would have expected, and I enjoyed that aspect of it. The settings and characters were all consistent and detailed. Overall pretty well written.

The only negative - and this was small and particularly annoying to me - is the main female lead is described throughout the text as being a bombshell - hourglass curves, inherent sensuality, very Sofia Vergara, for example. But perhaps 75% of the way through the book the author describes her as "5'1'' and 104 pounds," which...what? Seems to go along with a distinct reluctance in media to describe attractive women as anything more than 115, but this was particularly ridiculous.

This is a tough one to write. Most of my thoughts are going to be in the SPOILER category, so don't read if it is going to be too much for you. The heroine in this story is a very wild spirit gal. She goes on reality TV, ever watch The Bachelor?, a show like that. She decides to play the part of the _itch. If you have ever watched The Bachelor, you have seen this gal. Everybody hates her. she alienates everyone on the show and most of the viewing audience. Her motive was to get exposure so she could get parts as an actress. She is quite the wild child. She lives life on her own terms and then gets -issed off when the "world" calls her on it. She has sex with the bachelor, goes topless in the hot tub, and of course, some of her actions are made to look even worse by clever editing. Most of it she has done and doesn't care who knows it. After all, men can do it and no one looks down their nose at them so why can't she?

Now, in a perfect world, she should be able to do anything she pleases and not be judged. However, we don't live in a perfect world and since time began the woman has always been accountable more than the man. So, she gets the shaft on the show. After all, American doesn't want the _itch to get the guy, they want the sweet, family girl to get him. In this story the bachelor is below pond scum but he is still held in high esteem with the viewers mainly because they don't know what really goes on, only what the show wants you to see and believe. She gets the shaft, so she goes out to a bar and has sex with the first guy she meets! Little known to her, he is filming the whole episode!! So, now she has a sex tape as well as the most hated woman in America. And she has difficult understanding why everybody hates her and all men think she is an easy target!! Duh..

Now, her agent, that she calls a creep but she stays with him is getting a lot of calls!! Unfortunately they want her for porn movies or to pose for Playboy. She is a "serious" actress and she wants the good parts that will lead to an Oscar!!! And she can't understand what she did wrong!!!

Our gal is in hiding because the paparazzi is hot on her tail. Fortunately for her, she is hiding in the home of the hero of the story, Adam. he is a security guard and he is protecting her after she gets a message taped to her apartment door saying Die Whore. Adam is a prince among men. So, what does our girl decide to do? Well, she is bored so she decides to go clubbing! The Hot Spot in L.A., she gets all dolled up, minus her underwear, and she is ready to go out dancing and drinking! After all, this is who she is and she isn't changing for anybody - but why don't they like me??? So, she asks for bad press and she gets it and then she blames the press. She sets herself up and then complains when her world comes tumbling down.

Ok, I was going along with this gal. We shouldn't judge, even though it would be so easy, so give her a chance. She decides she has been good long enough, so she STEALS the keys to Adam's buddy's bike and decides to take it for a joy ride - without his permission. She even talks Adam into going along with her ---but, to be fair, she believes he is too good for her (I agree) and she doesn't want to ruin his reputation by associating with her!! but she is perfectly willing to steal this bike and take him along. Oh yes, he has the ability to refuse but you know which head he is thinking with. When she goes over all the stupid stuff she has done, he tells her she did nothing wrong!!! I didn't think that was a help. She got the bad press and she asked for it...but then complained and couldn't understand why everyone thought she was a sl-t!! She did everything to make them think that, what did she expect? Now just because she doesn't wear underwear under her slinky dress to go out dancing doesn't make her a bad person - but get real. When you know you are setting yourself up for "the shot", what do you expect?

I seriously think this gal needs some time on the couch - and with a head doctor, not a hot guy!! I believe her dad is a preacher, her family disowned her when she went on the show!! --I have often wondered when the gals are behaving this way what their parents are thinking when they see the show aired!! Hummmm. Oh well, she definitely has issues. Our world may be changing but it is not there yet, so if you flash your hoo-ha stand by for negative comments. I did quit reading. I just don't care for this gal's personality. I feel bad for Adam because I think he is being pulled down by a hot chick!! (no, he won't be the first). But I just couldn't like this character and I found I didn't want to read about her. I'll never see The Bachelor again in the same light. You know it is not REAL but yet you don't know how bad it really is until you read a story like this one and see so many things pointed out that makes it sad. Oh well, this one might appeal to some it just didn't to me.

I am really loving this series. It's so much fun to read about characters you have already gotten to know in previous stories. I appreciate that although there is plenty of sex, it is not graphic.
