Straight from the pages of the hit digital series DOUBLE BARREL!
You've never seen a Cold War like this! In Crater XV, the follow-up to 2009's Eisner-nominated Far Arden, Kevin Cannon weaves together an intoxicating tale of swashbuckling adventure, abandoned moon bases, bloodthirsty walruses, rogue astronauts, two-faced femme fatales, sailboat chases, Siberian pirates, international Arctic politics, and a gaggle of horny orphans. Mixed up in all of this are Army Shanks, our salty sea dog still reeling from a devastating loss, and Wendy Byrd, a plucky teenager who wants nothing more than a one-way ticket off the face of the Earth. For mystery, thrills, and Arctic chills, set a course for Crater XV!

Another Army Shanks novel, but not quite as excellent as Far Arden
Reviewed in the United States on 10 January 2021Verified Purchase
The story surrounds Army Shanks after the tragedy of Far Arden. The story also involves an Siberian Tanker who is working on launching a rocket into space, but can CASA beat them. The story is another interesting and intertwined story that involves a cast of fascinating characters. The issue is the story doesn't quite gel together as well as the previous title. There is still a touching and heartbreaking message of life and loss, but it doesn't quite deliver a punch as expected. The art, while simple, is great for the story. I feel this book was entertaining, but it didn't quite deliver the punch and excellence of Far Arden.

Better than The First!
Reviewed in the United States on 7 August 2021Verified Purchase
It's not often that the second book is as good as or better than the first, but Kevin Cannon outdid himself on Crater XV. While Far Arden was a fun ride, Crater XV picked up the pace significantly in every category. The art was outstanding - hilarious and dramatic at the same time, and the plot was excellent! Highly recommended!
