About the Author

Mary E. Pearson is the author of The New York Times-bestselling Remnant Chornicles and other bestselling, award-winning novels for teens. The Miles Between was named a Kirkus Best Book of the Year. The Adoration of Jenna Fox was listed as a Bank Street Best Children's Book of the Year, an IRA Young Adult Choice, NYPL Stuff for the Teen Age, and a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year. Mary E. I haven’t given a book a 5 stars in a while, but this story deserves it. I couldn’t put it down from the moment I was picked it up!! ugh one of my favourite troupes enemies to lovers was WRITTEN SO WELL. Kazi and Jaze relationship is genuinely one of my faves along with secret romance with some side characters. I loved the characters in this book so much where everyone’s story was both touching and heartbreaking. The plot was amazing!! I’m so excited to read the second book as there was heaps of unanswered questions left in the first book: I have high expectations for it!! 100% recommended this book to anyone!!

Dance of Thieves was brilliant, addictive and engaging. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.

I stayed up so late reading it and literally could not put it down. My eyes were glued to the page and my mind raced to absorb all the goodness it provided. I promised myself only one more chapter and yet I could not stop.

If you are a fan of the Remnant trilogy this book should now be placed at the top of your TBR. The new characters we meet, Kazi and Jase, are adorable and strong, and work so amazingly well together. We see our old favourites and learn what has happened the last 6 years since the Great Battle. Honestly I was a little hesitant going into this book. I loved the Remnant trilogy and was nervous to read about new characters but I loved them just as much, if not more than the previous ones.

Dance of Thieves was full to the brim with new character dynamics, action, family, drama, betrayal, absolutely swoon (and I mean SWOON) worthy romance and another strong female character who can take care of herself. It was so addictive I wanted to devour it all in one sitting. It was paced nicely and flowed extremely well. The plot was sensational and completely engaging. It had both expected and unexpected twists and I loved it all.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next instalment in this series, it will be my most anticipated read for 2019 now that I have finished Dance of Thieves. Yes, you read that right, most anticipated release.

I definitely recommend reading The Remnant Chronicles before this series. There is a lot of details that would have significant meaning if you read TRC first.

The world building is minimal (main reason to read TRC first) but still there. It’s expected to know it all already.

Character development was a bit blurry. I did find at points that the MC was going against everything she stood for even though it was a big point that she would never. So like a said, the line was blurry.
I really enjoyed the MC Kazi but at times I had to remind myself she is 17 and meant to be naive! I can’t expect her to be a teenager with an adult mind 😅 with that in mind, I still enjoyed how intelligent she was and how sharp she was. I always love a female MC who can kick ass and still be compassionate.
I enjoyed the friendship Kazi had with the girls. It was a ‘I would take a bullet for you’ vibe. Well in this case a blade.

The romance was very fast paced and not the slow burn I am used too however it was still quite enjoyable to read.
So many secrets in the relationship and it was bound to be exposed. I did love the way Jase open about himself and his feelings. That was different.

The amount of face slaps and gasps coming from me from the ending.🤣

Overall, I liked it, and can’t wait to read the next book.

A great book. Mary Pearson has got to be one of my favourite authors at the moment. She really allows you to connect to the characters and feel included in their story. I am now reading the revenant series which takes place in the same kingdoms as dance of thieves and I love the connections between the duology and the tribology. Amazing!
