Another messed up release
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2021Verified Purchase
Audio is horrific. Everything has a horrible reverb to it like someone has tried to be clever and mix a mono track as stereo. I believe the technical terms is "Out of phase". The image quality is not as sharp and colourful as the Arrow releases. This more like DVD quality than Bluray. I know this film has never looked very good to begin with but at least the Arrow release tried.

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your time or money buying this if you already have a copy.
Not one bit of footage I haven't already seen on other discs I own
And the double sided poster is a rip off.
One side is exactly like the picture on front of the case and the other side is identical apart from it doesn't say "Who Dares Wins" at the bottom.
They shouldn't be allowed to sell this as some kind of special edition...

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

What a shame, I was so pleased to hear about this and didn't hesitate to order it right away.
Uncut special edition.... this was a very strong impulse for me to buy it.
When I put in the disc today, disappointment was the first thing that came into my mind. Picture ok, sound just AWFUL. Why isn't this checked before release? Cannot watch it like that, so it is going back!!

Faulty audio?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 June 2021Verified Purchase
As other reviewers have noted, the DTS-HD 2-channel audio track on this disc appears to be faulty - as if the background sounds were recorded through a cardboard tube (phasing problem?) It's bad enough to make the film almost unwatchable. Hopefully Fabulous Films will fix it and offer replacement discs. A real shame as I was looking forward to this release (picture quality is fine).

Four star film, two star blu ray. Poor sound, no quality check?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 June 2021Verified Purchase
I don’t normally write reviews, but felt compelled to. I remember seeing this way way back and was quite taken with the dark early 80’s tone of it (crossbow bolt down the throat anybody?!), so I was quite pleased when I saw it was getting a 2021 blu ray release (I have to admit though, I hadn’t heard of Fabulous Films previous to this film release, so don’t know the quality of any others releases of theirs). Unfortunately, it’s not great. The picture quality is ok, clear but not brilliant. The biggest problem however, as most other reviewers have mentioned, is the sound quality, it’s terrible. Any scenes with more than one layer of sound, phases like a sound effect on a late 60’s rock album. It’s really distracting. I still love the film (always thought Lewis Collins would be a shoe in for the James Bond role), but the poor sound quality makes it difficult to enjoy properly. Other reviewers mention a previous Arrow release, unfortunately I’m unaware of it, so can’t make a comparison to it, but hope the sound is better than this release. Shame, but just not good enough for a 2021 release.
