Simply Staggering 4K Experience
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 August 2019Verified Purchase
I’m a movie fan. I have thousands of DVD’s, Blu-ray’s and a growing collection of carefully chosen 4K movies. As far as movies go, if I’m asked “What is the best car chase?”...Easy... Ronin. “What is the best shoot out?”...Simple... Heat. If I’m asked “What is the best 4K cinematic experience?”... There is now only one response... The Dark Knight Trilogy. These three 4K films have set a new benchmark for the movie experience. I have a 65 inch Samsung QLED and Denon/B&W Surround setup. These 4K movies are simply staggering. In the words of the late Niki Lauda “You can’t say any more”.

Should have had the latest sound encoded formats

It would have been 5 stars if the films had been encoded with Dolby Atmos or Dts X

Just WOW!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2019Verified Purchase
Reviewed: UHD Discs. These are some of the finest UHD disks I have ever seen and heard. The soundtracks are amazing, with a full bodied cinematic and dynamic sound that just engage you in the movie, images are amazing with beautiful, vivid HDR and resolution. Nolan simply raises the bar of the home cinema experience here. I am glad I got this, it is really a upgrade to the standard Blu-ray, and well worth it, if you are a fan of these films.

3/10 for BLU-RAY versions
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2019Verified Purchase
Brilliant film ruined by the blu-Ray edition. I was expecting high picture quality, well yes it was good, but! and it’s a big but, the aspect ratio keeps switching from 2.35 to 16.9 and back again, which I later found out via forums, that it was because it was filmed in IMAX, but sorry it sounds implausible, so I would like an explanation some day. So whilst I love the films (Direction/Production Values and Performances) It seems only the DVD versions are worth watching. Perhaps I’m a purest but that was why I wanted the Blu-Ray. So I have sent it back to Amazon for a refund. Very Disappointed

Good films - less impressive UHD
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 October 2021Verified Purchase
I already owned 2 of these films, one std DVD, one BR.
I decided to take the plunge and get all 3 in this UHD box set - because of some outstanding reviews here, and I have an excellent TV, 4K disc player and high end sound system so I was ready to be impressed.
Let me put out there right away the films, for me, are virtually 5 star (4.5) and watching all 3 back to back put me in the zone, as it were.
Now a confession of silliness - I watched the first film and was unimpressed by the UHD quality. I really thought it added little over upscaled BR. Only when I put the disk back in the box did I relaise I hadn't flipped the holder - and found the UHD still there - I HAD watched the BR version!
Still, it provided an unintended opportunity to experiment - I watched the UHD version the next day; and decided it really wasn't that much better - a little, but not a lot.
I watched films 2 & 3 in UHD. They were visually impressive, but then so would an upscaled BR have been.
All in all I'd say if you already have BR version, don't bother.
I pulled my score back to 4 stars from a potential 5 because of the less than impressive UHD quality.
If the films hadn't been so enjoyable anyway, I'd have scored the UHD even lower.
