Love the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl is an amazing artist ...
But the book was a bit like this ... Dave Grohl is a great guy ..blah blah blah. Dave Grohl likes Heavy Metal and Punk .... blah blah blah.
It seems like the author was trying to hard to paint a picture of Dave Grohl as this 'normal' guy and there is way to much discussion around what is 'metal' and what is 'punk'. It got quite annoying at times with the author trying to label music genres. I am sure Dave Grohl is grateful to be where he is at and works is @ss off. But he is anything but a normal Joe, which is why he is so fantastic.
There were some good parts, but I struggled to get to the end without rolling my eyes about 50 times.
I am a massive Foo Fighers fan, so I had to get this book to read about Dave. The book is great starting back from when Dave was in high school & getting into music. From there it goes into other bands he wrote songs & played the drums in before playing for Nirvana. Then goes on to how he started the Foo Fighters & on the side does other projects because he doesn't like to take vacations & likes to say busy. I think this book is a great read if you really want to know about Dave & his history and where he is now. He is the nicest person in music & a great musician. The book is written up to when they released Sonic Highways, so pretty current.
