Dead Drop: The Guild, Book 2 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
All I’ve ever known is the Guild. They clothed me, fed me, raised me. They trained me. And in return I became their perfect weapon, their loyal soldier, their deadly asset. For as long as I can remember, the Guild has been my life. But now, it’s about to become my death.
Not everyone is cut out to be a mercenary. I’ve watched countless colleagues fail in their missions and pay the ultimate price. I’ve watched peers lose their minds with the weight of the work we do, and pay with their lives to keep our secrets.
I never thought I would become one of them.
No one quits the Guild. But I sure as hell won’t stick around to be killed by some coward in the shadows, pulling strings to see me fail.
How do I run from the deadliest of hunters?
How will I hide when they have eyes everywhere?
By making the enemy of my enemy my friend.
The Guild was my whole life. My purpose. My mentor.
Now I’ll do anything to escape them. To escape him.
Even if it hurts.
Especially if it hurts.

She needs to find out why her employer is trying to kill her, while dodging assassination attempts, finding her way around a love triangle and trying to keep her plant alive! #superwoman
This book has:
➡️ multiple points of views (I'm still waiting for Stanleys 🌿😂😂)
➡️ a continuing enemies to lovers trope
➡️ some breath play
➡️ graphic violent scenes
➡️ love triangle
➡️ and a major cliff hanger
➡️ there's probably more but my brain is still processing this work of art 😵💫
My favourite parts of the book:
✅️ the banter between Danny and Leon is **chefs 💋** Think a hotter Mr & Mrs Smith. They live such chaoticly violent lives so it's no surprise that the way they interact is similar but at the same time is so intimate and real. He does more than literally kill for his woman, that it's sick in the hottest way possible 🥵
✅️ has a strong female lead character. It's no secret Hades is my favourite FMC ever written. I love tough h's but Danny is possibly tougher and I can't get enough
✅️ 2% in and 🌶🌶 started
✅️ loved seeing other characters from previous books making guest appearances and learning more about them (the new revelations revealed 🤯) - don't have to read them, just a treat for those who have already read the other series 🧁
I haven't mentioned Kai yet so it's probably a good indication on where I sit with him in this whole love triangle 🤣🤣
One thing you learn with Tate books, is that you NEVER know what to expect. I don't even know how she will tie everything together. The only logical answer is with magic. She's a magician. Bring on The Guild #3.
Leon had me seeing stars. 5 to be exact.
Thanks Tate James and Peachy Keen Author Services for an ARC of Dead Drop.
Leon, Kai and Danny or Bunny, Big Man and Siren as I now refer to them as, oh how I love these psycho’s. Dead Drop was action packed and seriously, insanely hot!! I loved every moment of this book I couldn’t put it down, and in true Tate style that ending had my jaw dropping and mind blown!! I have so many questions….like so many that I need answers too like now. I loved the small cameo’s from previous Shadow Grove Favs and love Danny’s description of Shadow Grove… “a lot criminals hiding out or seeking asylum in the neutral gang territories ruled by Hades. It was like gangster Fiji.” 😂 Bunny you are my new favourite psycho and I don’t know what that says about me, and Kai you sweet caveman I adore you too, but let’s be honest the real MVP is Stanley. 😭
I will just be here impatiently waiting for Kill Order. June can’t come quick enough.
I LOVE Leon’s crazy! The tension between Kai and Leon is perfection, I can’t wait to see how this progressed in the finial book.
It is the perfect mix of suspense, action, plot, humor and a little spice.
The multiple POV in this book is everything.
10/10 I will forever recommend reading this book and everything Tate!
Do I feel like I’ve been picked up and put back together after Honey Trap? YES! Did Dead Drop knock me back down with 1000 more questions.. ABSOLUTELY! Would it be a Tate book without unanswered questions and a burning need for the next book? Nope! I wouldn’t have it any other way! (But also can I please have kill order!)
Also continue to use that voice while saying "actioooon" "sooo steammmy"
This book is on brand for Tate. Genuinely hilarious, hot as hell and the attachment you have for these psycho characters is a testament to Tate's writing ability.
Who champions for the kidnapping, murdering, mentally umhinged guys to win?.... Me apparently 🤦♀️
Also im biased as its so cool seeing your culture represente. Not just in regards to character representation but also seeing te reo maori being woven throughout the narrative
Nga mihi nui Tate ❤️✌️
If you’re not looking for another action packed, scorching hot mystery with more twists than you expect, then this book (and series) probably isn’t for you.
Another epic 5 star read that you won’t be able to put down.
Kai finally sees the real Danny and still loves her. We see more of Leon’s masks but still don’t know the whole of him. And Danny is still as fierce and feisty as ever. The bombs dropping at the end seriously left us hanging and desperate for book 3.

Danny DeLuna is a Guild assassin, bought up in a guild home as an orphan and trained to be at the top of her game. She's focused, single minded, deadly and she loves her job.
Leon is not just a nerdy hacker for the guild, he's lots of things and none of them can be perceived as nice or 'normal'. In particular he's obsessed with Danny.
Kai is an arms dealer, notoriously difficult to get close too. Deadly. Dangerous.
Danny is overwhelmed by her feelings for both men. She gets drenched with thoughts of the deeds they do to protect and help her. All of them revel in violence, death, torture, danger and passion.
But both men are obsessed, not only with their feelings for Danny, but with visceral hatred for each other. And they expect her to choose.
The only man Danny can count on not to apply any pressure is Stanley!
Luckily book 3 is due next month so my cliffhang'ov'er won't last too long.
It's a subtle seduction with Madison Kate series, a seriously more revved up in Hades series but The Guild is definitely more dark, addictive and twisted.
All the characters are broken, yet their darkness draws you in.
Danny, the main female character is scrambling to stay alive, as The Guild is hunting her. She has two love interests and they want her to choose one of them.
Leon, tech bunny/executioner is obsessively in love with Danny but is he loyal to her or The Guild?
Kia, the honey trap Mark becomes lover wants to assuage his guilt by loving and protecting Danny.
The three of them create angst filled read that hits you in the feels. In the end, she make a wrong move and left me screaming No.
The cliffhanger and shocking revelation leave you shocked and wanting book 3.
Unpredictable, unputdownable read. Highly recommended.
Please note these books have warnings ⚠️
My only complaint per se, was the way Danny behaves at the end of the book. As its the same way MK behaved when she found out some details in her series, and felt a little sameish to me. A plot line can be used in multiple series sure, but not in the same world in my opinion.
But overall very happy, excited for the final book.
