Enhance your purchase
Embouchure Builder has been designed as a supplementary study to be used along with any standard instruction book. The studies herein are excellent for use in the warm-up period prior to each daily session of practice. The technicality of the fingerings is comparatively simple and the studies can be used to advantage by a young student with only a few weeks of formal study. This book contains much valuable material essential to successful performance not found within standard instructional material.

It's a great book. I can feel improvement just after few times practice. I am learning trumpet by myself, a good guide is very helpful to me. Thanks.

WARNING AVOID THIS BOOK.

Have returned to playing after 15 years. Was making good progress and could hit high notes when playing scales, but struggled when playing tunes. Thought this book might help.
It had the opposite effect, after two days of half hour practice, making unmusical noise, with this I’ve ended up with bruised lips and can barely play a one octave C Major scale, and my tone is a struggle.
I’m hoping a couple of days rest will help. However I fear the unnatural exercises in this book may have caused serious damage.

Some mistakes in figuring notation!

Excellent excercises for developing the lip muscles; unfortunately some of the fingering notation is incorrect! For the correct ones I would recommend scales and arpeggios for trumpet and brass instruments. However once you have identified the mistakes ( not difficult!), it's still worth buying.

Probably very useful, but not for me

I was hoping for more tips on how to improve my technique but the book mainly contains exercises.
This may not necessarily be a bad thing but just means that it wasn't what I was looking for.
Nevertheless, I have kept the book for future reference (and, if I ever use it in earnest, I'll upgrade my rating).

Ahhhhh!!!!!, that's where I have been going wrong?

I bought a copy for myself as I went back to playing the cornet after 20 years.i couldn't believe the amount of mistakes I have been making. Do you know that I actually bought another copy for the young player that sits beside me in band .....stop any bad habits before they form. A must buy for any player and an ideal gift.

Good for beginner. If you struggle with range start with this first and then 27 groups of exercises.
