Feels cheaply made & the tape isn't real smooth. Seemed to work accurately, but get a bit of sand in the handle & it won't slide very well. Only got to use it a few times, before a freak wave washed over it & that is how it died. Going to look for a more robust waterproof (& hopefully) sandproof model for my next purchase.

Check batteries before returning unit!

Unit did not work with the batteries supplied. Both are supposed to hold a charge of 1.5 volts when new, neither batteries had this. .45 volts and 1.20 volts only.

Was about to return unit but then fitted my own batteries
