I've read a few novels from this author and she's become one of my must-reads, so when this book popped up I grabbed it. It is a rerelease, so be careful if you're a long time reader but it was new to me. I enjoyed it but am aware that it's not my favourite or the best from the author. Perhaps it was an early book? The premise is good and the characters were great, which is what I expected. However, it just didn't grip me. It had all of the components, and I liked it, but it didn't make the leap into great, couldn't put it down territory.

I can't quite put my finger on why I couldn't get into this story. It seemed like a normal set-up, but the scenes seemed to jump around without much cohesiveness. I felt like I was reading one scene in a chapter, but then, a line or two later, I realized it was a new scene, with no transition. Maybe it was just me. In the end, it couldn't hold my interest. Aside from the strange transition pace, the characters were sort of shallow and yeah, it might have improved if I'd stuck with it, but I couldn't do it.
