The highly anticipated companion to the No.1 bestseller The Fast 800
150 delicious new recipes to help you combine rapid weight loss and intermittent fasting for long term good health
Foreword by Dr Michael Mosley
This companion cookbook to the international bestseller The Fast 800 by Dr Michael Mosley is filled with delicious, easy, low carb recipes and essential weekly meal planners, all carefully formulated by Dr Clare Bailey and Justine Pattison to help you lose weight, improve mood and reduce blood pressure, inflammation and blood sugars.
Studies show that 800 calories is the magic number when it comes to successful dieting. It’s high enough to be manageable, but low enough to speed weight loss and trigger a range of positive metabolic changes. In The Fast 800, Dr Michael Mosley brought together all the latest science, including Time Restricted Eating, to create an easy-to-follow programme, and this collection of all-new recipes, all photographed in full colour, will help you achieve all your goals. Every recipe is also calorie coded and noted with nutrition metrics to help you on your path to long term health.

Excellent for all those undertaking the Fast 800 or 5:2 diet. I lost 25kg in 4 months on this diet. This book contains simple and practical recipes with calories counts and emphasis on low carb eating. Also a great book for people just wanting to eat a healthy diet sticking to Mediterranean principals.

I'm using this product for weight loss as well as to achieve good health. The book is not complicated and neither are the recipes. I have given all other diets which I have been following for the last 12 years the flick. This is it for me now. I'm done looking for the next quick fix because this book has a scientific basis - not my only reason for doing this - I have studied natural therapies so I'm not uneducated when it comes to nutrition. Goodbye, complicated and hello simple living again. I have studied that many diet books I could write my own. The problem with most exercise programmes out their is the nutrition plan. Everyone is a so-called expert - the problem is they all seem to have a few pieces of the puzzle, not the whole thing. And no breakfast is not the important meal of the day as we have been force fed by cereal companies. It is shocking how antiquated nutrition plans still are - Intemittent fasting is definitely the most valuable tool I have aquired. So definitely 5 stars for me for a programme that really works.

Fantastic low calorie meals covering breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are even recipes in here for indulgent sweet treats every now and then. There are also Meal Plans but you can chop and change the recipes to suit.

This book gives you the background behind the Fast 800 diet and recipes with each of the relevant calorie counts. Have read a lot of books and tried many diets, but this one definitely works, although I find that some of the ingredients in the recipe are more trouble than they're worth. But the concept for me is very sound and I managed to loose 29 kgs in 22 weeks. It does take will power, but it has many health benefits especially if you're a diabetic like myself.

The only concern I had was that the calorie count for some products and ingredients may not be the same for equivalents in Australia ... but it's likely only marginal. The positives are multiple. Easy to follow recipes resulting in some very tasty meals and if the reader follows the simple principles and sticks to the recipes more or less, there are huge gains to be had. I lost over 20kgs and my metabolic health improved out of sight. Never felt better.

I’ve followed the recipes for a week and love them - so easy to make, and pretty filling I didn’t feel so “hangry” like I did on other diets. It is also healthier than keto. I’d have liked to have more precise portion size for male / female though, because my partner constantly felt hungry with this, which is fair because he’s twice my size and eating the same! Also if the author has made more weekly meal plans it’d be much more convenient for grocery shopping

The first two sections (Breakfast & Brunch, Shakes & Soups) are inexplicably heavy on higher sugar fruits (tropical/ citrus) and light on lower sugar fruits (berries/ -currants/ rhubarb). Not clear how sweetening with maple syrup, dates or orange juice is healthier than table sugar either.
Yet in the Q&A (p.14) Dr Clare Bailey notes that "Unfortunately fruit is a natural sugar storage device, with tropical fruits .... rating particularly highly ... Try and stick instead to berries and hard fruits ..."
Struggling to imagine who needs another recipe for 'One pot roast chicken' (chicken/ bacon/ root veg/ peas) or 'Simple chicken casserole' (chicken/ bacon/ tomato/ carrot/ mushroom) YAWN (p.140 + p.142).
Pesto and pulses absolutely work together, but four recipes on that theme?
Some of the most interesting recipes are tucked away at the back in the Meat-free section: Mushroom and chestnut hotpot, Nut red pepper and quinoa roast, Leek and goats cheese barley risotto.

I absolutely love this book. I also have the smaller fast 800 diet book and using those principals i lost a stone in just over 3 weeks. This book is a fantastic accompaniment to The Fast 800 paperback book and i will be cooking all most every recipe, there isnt a bad one in it. first one tried is the quinoa, broccoli and asparagus salad and its gorgeous. It has lots of tips and advice and some meal planners in the back and the recipes are just fab!
I have found that even though i am eating a much restricted calorie intake, the food is so delicious that i dont feel cheated or hungry. If I do i just have a few nuts or a peach etc. I am extremely confident that with this book coupled with the advice in the Fast 800 paperback, my 5 stone weight loss target is achievable and sustainable now. Feeling good!
Just a note regarding other reviewers statements about quality of the book....My book is in perfect condition, great pics and print is absolutely fine. No issues at all.

I’ve bought all of the above & so pre-ordered the Fast 800 Recipe Book via the Kindle app without hesitation.
I’ve just spent the last 2 hours going through the new recipes & will usually highlight those which immediately appeal.
Having done so I have actually highlighted approximately 90% of them!
Can’t wait to go food shopping tomorrow in order to start cooking!!
Can’t recommend highly enough the fantastic approach to diet & health by Dr Claire Bailey, Justine Pattison & of course, Dr Michael Mosley.
Last words of advice: BUY, BUY, BUY!!

I have been waiting for this book for a couple of months, and I'm not disappointed, having followed the fast800 plan on line for twelve weeks I found it getting a bit repetitive, this book will certainly fill the gap till there are more recipes uploaded to the subscription site. This plan (I won't call it diet) works! over the first twelve weeks I lost 1 1/2 stone, and as I continue the weight is still falling away, for those like me with T2 diabetes the change in eating style to Mediterranean has seen a dramatic fall in my blood sugar levels, and subsequent reduction in the medication I need to take.
As for the actual recipes, they are great, never feel hungry or wanting, the food is tasty and satisfying, the fact that I feel I can follow this style of eating from now on isn't in the least bit daunting, not like diets that mean you will be on milk shakes for the rest of your life. This is real food!
Thank you Doctors.
