The 29th novel in the best-selling Alex Cross series.
Alex Cross ventures into the rugged Montana wilderness - where he will be the prey.
He's not on the job, but on a personal mission.
Until he's attacked by two rival teams of assassins, controlled by the same mastermind who has stalked Alex and his family for years.

Not sure why I reached out for Fear No Evil from the many better options in the James Patterson pantheon of series and one-offs. Maybe I still hanker for the Morgan Freeman version of the African American detective and psychologist hero working out of DC. Well, the author needs to let this character go because both of them are running out of steam. Cross and his partner are caught in a battle against an old nemesis that takes them far into the Montana wilderness, up the mountains and down the rivers, guns a'blazing. The narrative wanes badly in a number of places, notably when it comes to the incongruously soft family stuff, and flipping the pages to find the action and get to an unsurprising finish is the only way out.

Loved it. Alex Cross is definitely my favourite series, every book is exciting and well written. You feel a real emotional connection to Alex and his family. This book was action packed and well paced. The last act was awesome and so entertaining. A must read.

Another Cross story that weaves family and law enforcement into a powerful entity. The stories of Bree, Alex and John, Mahoney and the FBI woven together with the promise of the next book resonant at the end.

I really enjoyed this book as usual with James Patterson books I read.
I like the close bond in the team of Alex Cross and John Sampson. I like the story lines and I usually end up reading when I should be sleeping, as I find it hard to put down

Fast paced escapism. Just roll with the improbable plot and events and lose yourself in a good story. Looking forward to the sequel.

Alex Cross book 29, seriously how did that happen>? Alex and Sampson are characters that I love and have no hesitancy to read about. You know with James Patterson books what you are going to get and Fear No Evil was all of it and more. In a week where I just needed come comfort reading, I got it with this book. He is one of my all time favourite authors and I almost read it in one sitting - damn having to get up for work the next day.
This book is action from go to woe. There is never a chance to get bored and there is alot of dead bodies for Alex and Sampson to investigate. And they are being hunted themselves so it is all go.

Very disappointed didn’t seem to have a plot all about hunting disjointed one of the worst books I’ve read and nothing to do with Alex cross usual stories and Bree in Paris ? Weird I think it seems like someone else wrote this Patterson I guess is not going to write any good ones now

Disappointing read

I was disappointed with this follow up story of Alex cross. I love all the characters, but this tale was so,fantastic it just wasn’t believable. The baddies had no depth, and I didn’t find them plausible.
The hunt went on for far too long. How could anyone have such a collection of weapons?
I just couldn’t believe it.

I was disappointed in this Alex Cross book. It didn’t flow well. I kept losing interest in the story. I have been a fan of James Patterson and Alex Cross for many years but I won’t buy another one I’m afraid.

Brilliant Book!

Absolutely loved this book. It is typical James Patterson and typical Alex Cross. It's a real page turner and I honestly couldn't put it down until it was finished. The ending is great, all questions answered but it left off at a part that made me really want to read the next one. Me and my husband are huge readers of JP and have probably read almost all of them now, over the many years. I have to admit that I'm not so keen on some of the books he writes with other authors but, this book is well worth a read. Well done JP, again! Looking forward to the next read.

This was not at all like a James Patterson book, or like an Alex Cross case. Far to much death and to little plot.
