Let me just say that I enjoyed aspects of "Finding Steve McQueen". It had a lighthearted playful quality, and the cast was really good (and easy on the eyes), but it ultimately just felt a bit flat for me.
The bank heist was about as dull as you could make it, and sometimes it felt like the movie didn't take the subject matter seriously at all, which is a shame because but this is based on a pretty incredible true story.
I will add that the movie had some cool car stunts, solid performances and a great soundtrack, but often it looked like a bunch of 2018 actors in 1970's cosplay. I suspect they had a great time making this movie, I just wish I had a great time watching it.
FUN FACT: The Mini-Uzi used in this film wasn't released until 1980, so apparently there was some time travel going on back in 1972.
Finding Steve McQueen has its heart in the right place, but it ultimately falls short of being a timeless cult classic, and that's the real crime.

Product description
After seeing his face on a wanted poster, John Baker--who loves fast cars and idolises actor Steve McQueen--decides to come clean to the woman he loves. Not only is his real name Harry Barber, but he's been on the run for the last 8 years. Harry was part of an unlikely gang of thieves who set out to steal $30 million from President Nixon's illegal slush fund stashed at a California bank. Needless to say, things didn't go to plan...and when the FBI launched one of the biggest manhunts in history, Barber learnt that you can't steal from a thief and expect to get away with it!

All the ingredients were there for a cult classic....Sadly it fell a bit short.

Every single copy DEFECTIVE
Reviewed in the United States on 14 October 2019Verified Purchase
This seems like an interesting, maybe even fun movie, but every copy I've been sent has been defective. Amazon has been great about issuing replacements, but every copy catches & skips around the beginning of the 4th scene. Clearly, this is a manufacturing defect.

This was worth the watch and it's a true story. Good story and humor I had to watch it again after the first time because of some great parts in this movie. Check it out.

needed a rewrite . needed a professional director . needed the fine cast to read contract before signing to be in this miserably put-together unfunny movie. it was not an action film. it had no thrills. no life. sorry.
