About the Author
Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own for Usborne. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.

Good, large sized stickers

Took this on a long flight for my almost 3 year old. He doesn't have the attention span of his older brother, but this kept him occupied for a while. Usborne sticker books are great, and this one is a good one for the younger ones to start out with - the stickers are not too fiddly. A hint for using sticker books with young children - prep the books first by removing the white sticker surrounds on each page, to make it easier for little hands to peel the stickers off.

Big stickers that unfortunately fall off.

Don’t know if I’ve gotten a faulty book as everyone else seems to love this one. My 3 year old did enjoy it but we both got frustrated that the stickers wouldn’t stick down in the book properly. I think they may be intended to be low tack so you can move them around and easier for younger children to use. However this actually made it more difficult for my toddler as he is known to hold stickers while deliberating over where to put them so they lose some of their sticking power that way. I tried a sticker myself to see if that was the problem and sadly found even I couldn’t get them to stick. This book would be no good if you like to reuse your stickers. Really disappointing as the designs were very eye catching and the stickers were a great size. Really wanted to love this book. Have bought much better sticker books for far less. Thomas The Tank Engine has a great set of sticker books with lovely big stickers that stick well and can be reused more than once.

Brilliant for toddlers and beyond!

Son (aged 2) absolutely loved these - great pictures, lots of stickers in varying sizes (in contrast to a Thomas one, which had a limited number of stickers), and plenty of things to point out in the pictures. Kept our train mad son amused for an entire dinner out one evening. Highly recommend - will definitely be buying more.
