Any product for kids needs to be strong. The clasp on the Ace 3 is flimsy plastic and fell off many times. We returned it before it was lost. The app is also terrible. The Ace does not provide heart rate monitoring so you don't get the Sleep Stages information in the app. At the same price point you can get the Fitbit Inspire HR which is built to a much stronger standard; comes with Heart Rate monitoring; and gives you the full range of app features. I cannot recommend this product at all.

Gave it as a gift for my daughter. She is loving the features of steps tracking , and sleep tracking. Howver battery said upto 7 days charge free. It’s NOT! Charging once in every 1.5 days.

After using Fitbit Inspire 2 for a couple of months, I've got Fitbit Ace 3 for my three kids.
I chose Fitbit because I find that the brand is an absolute leader in the health and fitness trackers market.
After trying a couple of brand-name trackers, I concluded that the Fitbit is most comfortable to wear, easy to use, has the best app, provides accurate measurements and interesting Premium features.

Kids compare their achievements: steps, active minutes, sleep hours, badges and trophies, and they are often challenging each other.

What I loved the most in the Ace version for kids is:
*** Fitbit Ace does NOT have games!!! Yey!!! ***

Fitbit Ace purely serves its purpose without distractions: it tracks, motivates, and is helpful for parents as a sleep tracker.
Getting enough sleep is crucial for kids' development and healthy growth.
Sleep tracking has many details, well explained and convenient to follow.

The design of Fitbit Ace is similar to Inspire II - it has touch "buttons" on both sides, making the shape of the pebble symmetrical, where nothing sticks out.
The original silicone band is very comfortable to wear and feels nice on the skin, even when it's wet.
The secure adjustable clasp is a classic one, and it's the best choice for kids.
Kids usually do not remove the Fitbit when they shower, and the trackers are proved to be waterproof.
Occasionally, I take out the pebble and clean and disinfect the bracelet's interior side.

It was quick and straightforward to connect the tracker to the Fitbit App.
Also, I had zero issues creating accounts for my kids and connecting them to the appropriate tracker.
The synchronization also goes well.

The battery life is exceptional - kids are charging the tracker about once a week, if not less often.

And again, the best part of this fantastic, modern, high-quality and thoughtfully designed gadget for kids - Hallelujah, NO GAMES!

Don't track anything but steps!

I ordered this tracker with the hope it would track my daughter's physical activities, but no, it did not. For every exercise, except walking, you have to log it by yourself. It makes no sense that I have a tracker and I have to tell it "She has just ridden her bike for 30 mins for a distance of 10 km". It does not automatically track the activities nor has a manual button to click on to say "I am going to swim, please track my exercise" neither. Basically, it does not track anything, you track it yourself, and the tracker will record it for you.
For sleep tracking, it tracks how long your kids slept, but not how much time deep sleep, REM, light sleep, etc. It is simplified to "Asleep/Restless/Awake". I know my daughter is sleeping. I don't need a tracker for it. What I want to know is how deep her sleep is.
Useless.

We bought our son the Ace 3 for his birthday. He loved it and it worked well (would have said 4 stars!) - until it didn't (and became one star). We always put it on for him to ensure it is secure...but it fell off while we were camping and was lost. He only had it one month. I am very disappointed (and he is devastated). I would think that a child's device would be more secure. Lost devices are not covered by the warranty (no matter how quickly they fail!) and so Fitbit would not help me. Ended up being a lot of money for one months use!

I have Fitbit charge 2 for years and it’s amazing. I bought three for family members and they all love it. HOWEVER, this Ace3 for kid is very bad! Suddenly no reaction and suddenly wake up. I firstly decide to return and it works again, so I cancel the return but it doesn’t work now in hours. MUST return and would like to try ace2. Disappointed with the product!

I wanted to like this product, but it is absolutely nothing special. It actually quite overpriced for what you actually get, you are paying for the name.

Pro's
- Good Fit bit App
- Long battery life
- no distractions such as games, just a simple watch that lacks most smart features

Con's
- The belt and buckle on this watch could compete for poor quality with any dollar store watch. The belt is so flimsy and thin and the buckle is such a poorly made thin cheap plastic that my kids are afraid of breaking the watch every time they put it on and take it off.
- No heart rate sensor
-Extremely small screen, while the screen by design optics appears to be big, the actual screen is a small box in the middle of the portrayed screen area.
- lack of smart features. This watch is only a simple time teller and step counter. Alot of cheap watches out there offer you more.

In conclusion, you could get your kids a much better smart watch online for less then half the price that will be better built and more durable. The only trade off is potentially the battery life.

Very nice but…

My 7 year old recieved this for Christmas. He loved it and wear it constantly. He took good care of it too. However, the band did not stand up to the test of time and he nearly lost his whole watch. The clasp has fallen off. Looking to replace the band, it’s over a 3rd of the price of the whole watch and does not have good reviews. Neither do any offbrands. Just be mindful of the wear and tear and know that there are not good band replacement options. Everything else is great though….

My 9yo son has a Garmin Vivofit Jr and overall we like it. My 11yo daughter chose a Fitbit Ace instead, so we've been able to compare the two. Mostly the differences are just differences - neither better/worse, just down to personal preference. But the app for the Fitbit is definitely not as well designed or intuitive, and I find myself going in circles to remember how to do a simple task. I'd give the Garmin 5 stars and the Fitbit 4 stars as a result.

My daughter would like me to say that she's disappointed the sleep tracking is nowhere near accurate, but I hear that's a common issue even with high end smart watches so I'm not going to remove a star for that.

Great watch, easy to set up and use. Only complaint is the screen scratches easy, kind of frustrating since it’s a kids watch so I expected it to be more durable. I’d recommend getting a screen protector, I wish I had! Otherwise no issues.
