This is a great book that goes into great detail. It even debunks a lot of myths about certain herbs and spices. I'm going for an aged record with my puppy and this is a great start.

It is very long for very little practical information. It’s a bit of story telling that gives it a vibe of just anecdotal information even when I know it’s based on some research. What bothered me is that the research studies that supposedly back up the claims are not clearly quoted. When you read something as “science based” you expect the sources to be quoted. Was disappointed to not find that. I returned the book.

Thoroughly researched & authors personal mission due to loss of their own pet & rising diseases in our beloved pets.
Many may scoff but because your vet won't accept what is known but by keeping their pockets fat is masking those issues & not getting to the root and fixing appropriately.

This book is one of those to add to the way we care for our beloved pets. Knowledge is key...and some of the info in here pet parents known for 30+ years & like many, incl myself learnt via an holistic vet and undertook the journey.
Now it's all in one place.
It's worth the read!

However, I was expecting more.. especially in terms of layout & was expecting goto info with the actual reference to the data & research and starter recipe's. Knowing that authors have taught us online and produced material prior, this was the downside. But I've been made aware this tool online, but what if you don't want to be online OR it's not available.

I still think CANINE NUTRIGENOMICS: THE NEW SCIENCE OF FEEDING YOUR DOG FOR OPTIMUM HEALTH
by Diana Laverdure and W. Jean Dodds is also a must have, to knowledge ourselves, this book will sit nicely next to it. Alongside dvd pet fooled (must watch).

We all want our 4legged family to live healthier & to a good age.

Errors in doses calculated

It’s an okay book. Some of the information was helpful, but I was really disappointed to see a huge error in the dose recommendation for Milk Thistle on page 268. It should read: 22-110mg/kg and 10-50mg/lb. It was erroneously written with a larger dose calculation for weight in pounds and a smaller calculation for weight in kilograms. I hope the authors correct this error soon.

I've been following your content for sometime so I was skeptical that the book would just compile content that's already been published and discussed via your pages collectively, because I know Rodney likes to share his knowledge to the world to raise awareness to pet parents and I'm truly grateful.

But I'm pleased to say there's elements in the book that I've not seen them talk about before and it goes allot deeper than just nutrition/pet food "nasties".

This book was clearly published for your every day reader who happens to feed kibble, I love it's simplicity and layout, it's perfect for the layman's of the world like me, yes I still consider myself a lay person, the thesaurus is my best friend, big complex jargon words are my enemies!
Safe to say it was perfectly written for me, so I'm sure many others will thoroughly enjoy it too!

I have no doubt in my mind that this book will help reshape the world and improve pets lives for all the owners that read it!

The lead in to this book being available for purchase was quite long and came with so much advertising from the authors. This made me excited about receiving it. I must say that I’m disappointed with the book in relation to the advertising hype. I find the content quite shallow and the advice on how to prolong the life of your dog is pretty common knowledge. I do think that Dr Becker and Rodney are very special people and have worked hard on this book. For many, it will be a welcome addition, but not for me.
