Formulaic teenage self aggrandisement. The novel starts off with an interesting scenario and a sympathetic character, who develops the “poor little me persona”. Pathetic self indulgence and so unbelievable. Every twist and turn of the plot was obvious from the start. The only reasonable personal response of the main character was to the death of the grandfather. Everything else was a lot of tosh, rather than developing the character as she ages, she gets sillier, becoming histrionic and self indulgent. The plot has every possible contrived scenario, it really needs some serious editing. I won’t be reading anything else by this author.

Started off with a good idea but the writing isn't great. None of the characters sound real, most scenes aren't realistic and it reads as if a teenage is trying to learn how to write.
The characters all shout at each other and then calm down instantly and talk??? I'm only a third of the way through and I'm already fed up reading it

This book wasnt what I was expecting but was ok. Any sympathy I may have had for Maddie soon disappeared and so I kept waiting for her come upance. Will I read any more in this series probably not but only because I dont care what happens, not because of the writing.
