How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Bin super zufrieden.

5.0 out of 5 stars Goal Zero Car Charging Adapter Cable - Great Addition to my Portable Power Kit!

Purchased this cable to expand the capability for use with my Goal Zero Yeti 500x power pack. Build quality is what I have come to expect from Goal Zero products.

I cannot speak about the product, it was a gift. I asked the recipient how it was as he wanted it. He advised it is still in the package. Arrived on time and as described.

3.0 out of 5 stars 40 dollars for a charger cable. Really?

As with just about anything these days, you can't buy a generic model without digging through the depths of the internet. I bought the Yeti400 power pack, and I'm happy with it. Mostly I charge it at home after the weekend. Sometimes I need to charge it on the go, and that's where this little bugger comes in. Construction is average, you can tell where it's made. I'm careful with it because i know one good yank and this guy goes to charger heaven. If you need a car charger for your unit, this will do the job but it's an expensive route to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Turns Yeti into ultimate Tesla “camp mode” accessory
Reviewed in the United States on 3 February 2021
Size: One SizeColour: BlackVerified Purchase
Will provide a constant charge to the Goal Zero Yeti from the 12v outlet while the Tesla is in “camp mode.” The Tesla cannot provide ac voltage at anything over 120 watts or so due to a 10 amp limit on it’s 12 volt circuit. The Yeti solves this problem by providing a/c power while camping. Leaving the Yeti connected via this adapter recharges the pack from the Tesla battery or reduces the rate of drain while the Yeti is providing power. The drain on the Tesla is not more than a few miles a day - acceptable for a weekend of camping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great with Goal Zero 500x, but only if your car battery is strong
Reviewed in the United States on 4 June 2020

This product will only work if your car battery is strong regardless of whether the car is running or not.
I tried it out with my Goal Zero 500x to charge it in my old 2010 Subaru Outback. The red LED lights up, but when I plug it into the front or back 8mm barrel port, the blue LED on the 500x does not light up and it won't charge.

However, if I plug into a newer vehicle, the LED on this charger lights up GREEN and I can charge 5 or 10 AMPs. Currently pulling 120W of charge through this charger.

I had left a bad review earlier. So before you leave one, make sure your car has a strong battery. If it is on the fritz, it might still start your car, but it is not enough voltage to get this thing going.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works
Reviewed in the United States on 6 May 2021

It works in my van, to recharge the Goal Zero 3000X. It has a switch to let you toggle between drawing 5 Amps or 10 Amps from the 12 Volt power port -- so you can avoid drawing too much power and blowing a fuse in your vehicle -- you'll have to find out what the max current for your power port is. In my van, the max current draw from the power ports is 15 Amps, so I'd prefer a switch that went to (say) 12 or 13 Amps, but perfection is hard to come by.

10 Amps time 12 Volts = 120 Watts nominal maximum output. In practice, my 3000X front panel said about 130 Watts. With 8 hours of driving in a day, that amounts to about 1000 Watt-hours = 1/3 of the 3000X battery capacity (less any power draws, such as a refrigerator). So this charger is fairly useful for me on long-distance driving days.

The unit has an LED indicating that it is plugged into a live power source, which is useful to indicate that it is ready for charging when the other end gets plugged into the Goal Zero battery. I did find that it was a little too easy to knock the plug out of the power port or out of the 3000X, so found myself in situations where no charging was happening. In other words, be a little attentive to make sure that the Goal Zero is charging, after you start the engine and before you set off driving. This issue is not a big deal to me.
