A reissue of the hit BBC Radio 4 dramatisation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's bestselling novel - plus a bonus afterword from Dirk Maggs
According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, witch, the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact...
As the armies of Good and Evil converge on the sleepy English village of Lower Tadfield, the Four Horsepersons of the Apocalypse - War, Famine, Pollution and Death - assemble.
Atlantis is rising; fish are falling from the sky; everything seems to be going according to Divine Plan - except for unlikely angel and demon duo Aziraphale and Crowley, who have been living on Earth for millennia and become fond of the place. To prevent Armageddon, they must find and kill the Antichrist - but someone seems to have mislaid him...
Adapted, sound designed and co-directed by Dirk Maggs (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) this superb dramatisation features an extensive cast including Peter Serafinowicz, Mark Heap, Josie Lawrence and Paterson Joseph, and extra unbroadcast material including extended episodes and outtakes.
Also included is a 40-minute afterword in which Dirk Maggs talks about adapting Good Omens, working with Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, and gives us a fascinating look behind the scenes of the award-winning series.

Terry Pratchett is the best and even though I have read every book over and over listening to one of my favourites as an audio book is a real treat

Good Omens, the book, is one of my favourites, what would happen if the son of satan had a proper British upbringing & and not a privelaged American childhood. The book happily gets an outing every couple of years.
Good Omens, the radio dramatisation, also happens to be rather excellent. The production boasts a sharp script, and an amazing cast (particularly the two police officers in eps.1). I listened when it first aired on radio 4, and waited patiently for the cd to be released, the cd contains extra/extended scenes and the obligatory out takes.
Well worth a listen.

Brilliant! listened to this on a few recent long journeys. Have loved the book for years, and the cast of this is just fantastic! Made me realise I've been pronouncing Crowley wrong all these years though, ha! Our 6 year old even enjoyed it (although we had to cough a bit over the more fruity bits).
If you were looking for an introduction to either author, this would be a great start, they did it justice.

Very nice and accurate version....

This is one of my favourite books and love the original audio book of it. I was very excited when the BBC annouced the radio play for Christmas 2014. It is was an excellent production, but I found that it missed certain story elements and some of the humour was lost. But this CD release brings alot of that back with almost an extra hour extra than the broadcast. I still think you need to read the book to really get the little snippets of life observations that Neil and Terry bring to their story telling. But you would not be dissappointed with ordering this.

Same Cast For TV Adaptation Please!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 March 2015Verified Purchase
This radio play is near perfection. I faithfully adapts the book into a radioplay that does not disappoint. Peter Serafinowicz & Mark Heap are the perfect choice of the Demon-Angel duo leading the fight to stop the end of the world. With a very believeable Newton Pulsifer from Colin Morgan and Charlotte Richie being pitch perfect for Anathema Device, Madame Tracey & Shadwell are portrayed fantastically by Julia Deakin & Clive Russell, this cast is perfect. The others in the cast are excellent portraying their characters, and all I can say is keep the cast when doing an adaption for TV!
