Overall, this short series is excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I deducted one star for the fact the the "Collector's Edition" was not really anything special, pretty much the first series in a new box.
This show had me hooked from the first episode. We are introduced to Meredith, Izzy, George, Christina and Alex - first year surgical interns. They are thrown straight into the deep end and we watch, through a series of interesting cases, as they become accustomed to the life of a surgeon - or a surgeon's assistant at this stage. They are instructed by (bossed around!) by the wonderfully witty Dr Bailey, their resident, and work closely with the attendees in charge of each speciality. Sometimes too closely...
This isn't your everyday hospital drama. The dramas absolutely come at you thick and fast! I can't say that it's always true to medicine, but I can tell you that it is funny, witty, full of sarcasm and has some interesting surgeries along the way. This show is ultimately more about people than medicine, but you can't help but love it. The characters are ones that you will become invested in more than you thought possible.
Give it a watch; you'll see what I mean.
I watched the series on Prime instead. Much better quality.
