How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

2.0 out of 5 stars I didn’t finish reading

Was recommended by a mental health professional, was annoying bc at times it comes off as condescending to the reader.
The ideas and info were repetitive from other sources but really simple... I think oversimplified for me personally. I regret buying it but since I paid that much I might try and read it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars My therapist recommended it, and I can see why

I haven't finished this book, but I have already taken away a lot from it. I can't wait to see what else it will teach me. Approach is different than many other books, and worth a read if you don't find yourself responding to Cognitive Behavioural Therapies. My therapist recommended it, and I can see why. This book should be read by everyone, not just those with diagnosed mental health conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read!

This is one of the best book I have read so far. I was going through hard time and my friend referred this book to me which really helped a lot. It will tell you how to understand and deal with the situation in your life rather than controlling or avoiding it. There are various exercises by which you will actually get an experience of whatever is mentioned in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice book as a guide to ACT

Lots of helpful exercises, anecdotes and perspectives. I appreciate the outline of the physical self, vs the thinking self, vs the observing self.
Makes ACT accessible for everyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book. Off putting attitude
Reviewed in Canada on 20 February 2022

I haven’t finished the book, but despite it being a good message so far I’ve found the author’s tone somewhat off putting. I don’t need to be told how to feel about what the author is saying. Don’t tell me that you’re giving me a mind blowing paradigm shift. I can decide on my own how impactful your words are.

Reviewed in India on 23 March 2019

The delivery of this book was hassle free and in time. This is a life changing book provided one cares to read through every line and every word and implement the instructions. A very new and different approach to the usual positive thinking, thought control, affirmations etc.
