How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

TOP 50 REVIEWER
4.0 out of 5 starsINTERESTING, BUT VERY ANGSTY 3.5 STARS
Reviewed in Australia on 31 July 2022
I haven’t read a narrative centring around young adults in ages, but Colleen Hoover made it interesting, focusing on the typical vulnerabilities of this demographic, as well as vulnerabilities particular to main characters, Beyah and Samson.
‘Heart Bones’ focuses on the theme of trust, acceptance and finding your place to belong (including people to belong to). It’s actually quite sad (angsty too) and confronting at times with various, personal, unseen challenges ... some overwhelming, secretive and dark.
The concluding chapters had me thinking, yeh I know where we’re heading plot wise, but there was a surprising twist that I wasn’t expecting. It all ended in a turbulent way, but with a healthy slice of hope. Why ‘Heart Bones’? Because if hearts break, they would need bones. Bones can heal, so hearts can heal, too. See – angsty as it gets.

More like a romance novel than a mystery. But a good read . Gets a little bit too mushy and everything works out so rosey and perfect . Not exactly real life , but a good escape an ok book

Didn't get into the characters. Got bored. Skipped ahead. Unimpressive ending.

Predictable, boring and lifeless. Did not feel the chemistry qt all. Glad it was a short book and didn’t have to waste more of my time

I had average expectations going into this. But man, this is not how I expected to react to this book.

Seems geared towards young adults
Started well, but then I lost interest due to story line lacking any depth for my age

Takes long time to develop weak plot. Save your time and money for a different book

Screw this book. The cringe and the no emotion. The ending felt rushed and cringey. I couldn’t even feel bad for the main character.
