New York Times Bestselling Author Lynsay Sands delivers another sexy historical romance set in the wilds of the Highlands
In all her daydreams about her wedding day, Lady Claray MacFarlane never once imagined being dragged to the altar by her greedy uncle and forced to marry a man she didn’t know. But that’s what happened, or would have, had a Highland warrior not snatched her up at the last minute and ridden off with her in his arms. . .
They call him the Wolf. The mercenary’s courage and prowess in battle are known throughout the Highlands, and with his handsome face and black-as-sin hair, he is as intelligent and deadly as the wolf he was named for…
But the Wolf is also Claray’s betrothed. Thought to have been killed as a child, he’s been in hiding all these years. Now he’s determined to earn enough coin to rebuild his home, reclaim his birthright, and honor his marriage contract to Claray. For he’s fallen for the tender-hearted lass…and he will do anything to protect her and their future together.
"Highland Treasure completely swept me up with its exciting plot and wonderful cast of characters right from the first page. Lynsay Sands outdid herself with this latest installment in her Highland Brides series which was all about fan favorite (and mine!!) Rory Buchanan . . . With its compelling storyline and slow burn romance, Highland Treasure was thrilling, heartfelt foray back to England and the Scottish Highlands." --Harlequin Junkies
"Highland Treasure is Sands at her best. Whether it's her trademark belly rolling humor, the edge of your seat danger or the sweet romance, you'll be thoroughly entertained, start to finish." --Fresh Fiction
"Suspenseful 14th-century romance . . . page-turning, propulsive." --BookPage on Highland Treasure
"You can't help but fall in love with Lynsay Sands!"--Christina Dodd --This text refers to the hardcover edition.

The tenuous connection to the previous books in the series initially seemed promising. Wonderful to see Laird McKay's nephew Bryson reappear and to be given a reasonable explanation why he was a mercenary. The heroine seemed to be lively and with some character but the literal non-stop rescue animals very quickly lost their initial humour and became utterly tiresome. We get it she likes animals. The name of the horse was not even remotely funny just grossly stupid. It is supposed to be a book for Adults but silly animals names like Squeak and Stupid B'stard are more suited to a children's book. Page and pages of thoughts to the point of tedious tiresome PROSE. Detailed explanations. It was all "Tell" as opposed to "Show". Very little action compared to previous books.
The ENTIRE story is pulled together entirely on enjoying coupling and the Church teachings but have read other novels that dealt with this point so much much better.
One Character did such an about-turn in personality it was just unbelievable and laughable, like "Really"! This book just didn't work and in the end, one felt that someone else had gone through the manuscript and gutted the story, the characters and most importantly of all the action.
Am greatly disappointed. Cannot recommend it. Felt like someone else wrote it.
Lynsay Sands is one of my go to authors when I need a bit of escapism - and she has never disappointed me.
If you enjoy a bit of tongue in cheek humour, sass, silliness, heat and some intrigue, you can't go wrong with picking up a Lynsay Sands book, as no matter if it's highlanders, Regency or PNR, that's her trademark.
Yet another fun filled book to while away a cold rainy day...
There is always a little laugh, looking forward to her next book
