Product description
Tom (Liam Neeson) is a lot of things, but two in particular: an infamous thief and a newfound romantic. His feelings for his new flame Annie (Kate Walsh) have inspired him to turn himself in to the FBI and forfeit the money he has stolen in return for a plea deal and a clean slate. When he calls the Boston FBI field office to confess and set a meeting, Agents Baker (Robert Patrick) and Meyers (Jeffrey Donovan) laugh it off as a prank. They send their subordinates, Agents Nivens (Jai Courtney) and Hall (Anthony Ramos), instead. The two younger agents are shocked to discover that Tom is the real deal and see Tom's stolen money as their golden ticket to a better life. So begins a cat-and-mouse game, where good and bad become tangled, but love always rings true.

Honest Thief is paper thin in terms of plot. There are so many holes in the story that it's inconceivable that it manages to run for the best part of 100 mins. Neeson, a retired bomb disposal expert decides to start robbing banks when he returns back from the war after his father topped himself when made redundant from his blue-collar factory job and is done out his pension. Neeson starts of robbing the bank that were supposed to pay his father's pension. Of course he does not spend it. Because he is honest you see....... he then feels alive again and robs more banks for s***s and giggles. A total of 9m dollars. None of it spent..... because he is honest you know. Over the years he earns the nickname, The In-Out. Clever hey.
Anyhow, our robber meets a woman (a bloody tidy one at that) and wants to turn himself in to live, yep you guessed it, an honest life. He rings the cops but they are doubtful at first. Q two bent agents who decide to nick some of the loot and try and cut a deal. Neeson then goes on a revenge mission to clear his name. He even makes threats to come and get people from his mobile phone...... again. The story is lame, the title of the film is lame.....but, the acting is great from all. The action is decent and I found myself caring about the characters. And that's what saves the movie. Neeson can do this role in his sleep, but unlike Bruce Willis, Neeson stays awake and puts loads of effort in.
So, while Honest Thief will never set the world alite, you will be entertained and not cheated.

I was very disappointed ☹️ it was more like a comedy but not a good one
The detective that did the double cross was a poor actor his character didn’t sit right in the film.
