Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) After being forcibly transferred from his London police department for making his fellow officers look bad with his prodigious arrest record, no-nonsense cop Nicholas Angel arrives in Sandford as the sleepy hamlet’s newest constable. Though Nicholas is initially dismayed by his oafish partner Danny and calls to subdue belligerent swans, he soon discovers that under Sandford’s facade of tranquility lies the most thrilling case of his entire career. |
Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) Good-natured constable Danny Butterman spends his days patrolling the quiet streets of Sandford while fantasizing about the gun fights and car chases of his beloved cop films. But when Danny partners up with Nicholas Angel, he finally has the chance to make all of his action hero-dreams come true. |
Frank Butterman (Jim Broadbent) The friendly face in charge of the Sandford Police Service, Chief Inspector Frank Butterman is immensely proud of his city’s spotless crime record, as well as his son (and fellow officer) Danny. But behind Frank’s ever-present smile hides a terrible secret. |
Product description
Hit Brit comedy from Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. When a hotshot young London cop (Pegg)'s arrest record puts the whole Metropolitan force to shame, his superiors shunt him to a rural posting hoping they've heard the last of him. However, behind the lace curtain politeness, the sleepy hamlet he's posted to turns out to be a hotbed of murder and vigilantism. His diligence and character sit ill with the locals - all except the Sergeant's layabout son (Nick Frost), who's a huge fan of the cop buddy movie genre. The pair bond and end up taking on a sinister cult of local pensioners in a guns-blazing, granny-kicking, rocket-launching gore-fest aimed at restoring order.
