I enjoyed the chapter on values and can recognise some of the habits in myself, such as isolation and catastrophizing. Others like blaming others weren’t applicable. The book gives good prompt on where I start, but to tackle them all would likely be overwhelming.

Another great reminder of different ways to be kind to yourself. This book reminded me of Melissa Ambrosini's "Mastering Your Mean Girl", but told with the voice of Rachel Hollis.
To be honest, the wording choices used in this book weren't really to my taste, but I still recognised the importance of the message (the content, rather than the presentation). Most of the 'habits' were nothing new to me (as an avid self-help reader), and I didn't really relate to any of the use cases offered. Until chapter 13 that was.
Chapter 13 ("Zero F***s Mentality: cynisism on steroids") hit a note with me. It was really true that people who said they just didn't give an F to everything in their lives 'lied' a bit. Because 'only sociopaths truly didn't care'. I thought this message was really important to make people realise that it was actually ok to 'care', and it wasn't a sign of weakness at all.
The closing chapter (chapter 14) about values also stroke a note with me. It wasn't a new concept to me, but it was a great reminder to review my values regularly and realign my activities to what felt true to me at that particular stage in my life.
Oh, and I listened to the audiobook version that was narrated by the Author herself. Which I thought was nice.

The take home message is to remember to be kind to yourself, always. There are straight forward exercises to get to the root of the problem. Once these are identified it is easier to retrain your thought patterns.

Enjoyable and relatable. I worked through a chapter a day and stopped to answer the hard questions of myself. It was eye opening and it left me thinking, and noticing where I've come from, and where I want to go.
I would love to have a hard copy in my house to share with others, as well as to have the title catch people off guard, love the title. I found this book and each chapter inside enlightening and enriching.

that her book is gender specific

I didn't realize that it was only women that have these experiences. I always thought the disease of addiction and everything that comes with it was gender neutral?
