Australian comical entry in the Howling series which has nothing to do with the first two movies. Bottom line is that this is a bad movie, yet it does provide some laughs providing the viewer doesn't take it seriously. Much of the acting & script is bad, the werewolves are some of the worst to be seen & the annoying 80's soundtrack really dates it. However, the special effects for the baby marsupial are decent, Imogen Annesley looks good in the part of the main female werewolf, good use of Sydney Harbour & the film differs from regular werewolf movies (here they can change at any time, not just the Full Moon). Funny cameo by Dame Edna too.
The Prism DVD release has a picture quality that looks VHS.

Product description
Long ago, the now-extinct marsupial wolf (a.k.a. Tasmanian tiger) roamed the Australian Outback. Today, a werewolf colony that has descended from these marsupials has taken over the land. This race of human-like creatures roams the outback, feeding its need. The race for survival is on as the humans struggle to contain these creatures. This tongue-in-pouch horror/comedy stars William Yang, Deby Wightman, Christopher Pate and Imogen Annesley.

You will never look at broccoli in the same way
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 May 2015Verified Purchase
Lesley peeped through the hairline gap in the curtains, observing Mrs Crocket unloading this weeks groceries from the boot of her car. When Crocket reached for her 5th bag of shopping, Lesley could see the faint outline of a vacuum packed cluster of pre-cut broccoli protruding through the translucent Tesco's carrier bag. Once aware of this purchase, Lesley felt a rushed flutter of excitement and became penchant at the prospect of them being digested in the dank, hollow pit of Mrs Crocket's innards. Lesley knew that her lustful fantasies for the digestion of this particular vegetable were abnormal, but the carnal nature of this taboo had gripped her, tighter than the feeling in her chest, warmer than the building tensions of her pelvis. Once Mrs Crocket had finished carrying her shopping from her car to her house, she turned sharply to observe the front of Lesley's house. Although she was unaware of her neighbours voyeurism, she had sensed the feeling of being watched. Mrs Crocket had always had her suspicions of Lesley. Although approachable, and nothing short of friendly in person, Crocket had always tasted the unmistakable presence of doom whenever they came to converse. As if her tonsils had suddenly begin to excrete venom onto the back of her own tongue, Mrs Crocket always knew that someday, on the most horrid of days, she would be forced to submit herself as victim, to the vile prowess of Lesley's perversions.
Anyway... this film was alright. It featured werewolves and Ozzy people going "bloomin' heck".

Good film

I enjoyed this Howling sequel more than the ones that came after it. Barry Otto is a very good actor and I think the soundtrack added to the quirky 80s feel of it. It doesn't look as nice as the first two but I suppose the low budget vibe gave it charm.
