5.0 out of 5 starsNothing to complain about
Reviewed in Australia on 9 April 2020
Mainly using it for PS4 (MW, Apex, etc). Usually solo play, sometimes party chat with mates. Using it for WFH online meetings as well.

Sound is great, good surround sound. Comfortable to wear during long periods (my ears fit perfectly inside). Not too heavy. Workmates say the sound is clear, although I look and sound like I'm about to report a crash on the Tulla from the helicopter.

All in all - great price for this quality. Arrived almost a week earlier than expected (Melb west suburbs). Good accessories. Highly recommended for any use.

1.0 out of 5 starsNOT HAPPY!
Reviewed in Australia on 30 August 2019
While the quality of gaming sound in my ears is probably pretty good and the mic clarity is good, The CONS (negatives, down-sides) OUT-WAY these PROS!
1. The detachable mic feature. I thought this would be a WONDERFUL feature, since i hate the mic being there when I'm not using it! The 1st time I detached it and re-attached it, I noticed it was already looser!!! <-- this is terrible! I've seen seen many complaints that they fall off and get looser over time!.
2. With a CHEAPER headset (by LG)... about half the price, I never had problems with the volume that I couldn't fix but with this one, there seems to be no SETTINGS to change it - there aren't even Windows mic settings for volume when it's the default mic item! This is AWFUL for recording video of gaming! <I had to do a work-around where i reduce all game sounds and reduce volume of GAME 'recording' while maxing out the volume of MIc recording at the recording sfotware end (NVidia/Geforce Experience aka Shadowplay)....VERY frustrating
3. The STUPID, POINTLESS dongle along the cord for headset Volume control (why do I need this??), gets snagged then rips apart, has a pointless 7.1Surround button, which i often find OFF (again, WHY have this option there) and a Mic volume which when i start a new game and ask other players, find that it's increasing my volume....I.e. My mic volume wasn't at Max for some reason...?...
^ This is all the opposite of what you want in a gaming headset and certainly not what I expected in a headset TWICE as expensive as the LG one I was using that DIDN'T HAVE THESE PROBLEMS!

2.0 out of 5 stars Discomfort Rating? 5 Stars!

Though Sound and Microphone quality are fine, design and assembly introduce some real head-scratchers (what you have to do after ripping the set off when your pain threshold is exceeded).
To be exceedingly fair, this set may be OK for someone with a small head and ears, like children. Straight out of the packet, the design has the earpads clamped together by the arc of spring steel. This means the wider they are forced apart, the greater the force clamping down on your skull. So, the bigger your head, the more pressure. Short of taking the risk of bending parts of the frame out of shape to relieve the pressure (voiding warranty, I am sure), you are stuck with it.
To add insult to injury, the next problem is that much of this pressure bears down on your ears, not your head. Unfortunately, as elegant as an oval looks in design terms, the ear is NOT oval shaped! (unless you are a Vulcan...) So, again, unless you have very small ears, the cups will be squeezing your ears into your brain (or so it feels after a long session).
To try to alleviate the discomfort, I swapped the faux leather pads for the supplied cloth alternates. What a design joke. It took half an hour of pulling and squeezing to get it done. The genius designer did not just specify a stretch rubber-type retainer that slips over the frame, but, critically, a very narrow channel, about the thickness of a finger nail, that it must slip into. This made the job of simultaneously stretching and controlling the retainer, while trying to get it to slip into its narrow resting place a real nightmare.
These headphones were three times the price of my last ones (from a different maker) that I could wear with no issues for hours (sometimes forgetting I had them on). These new ones are immediately mildly uncomfortable, rising to extremely uncomfortable after an hour or so. My old ones lasted me the better part of a decade. I cannot imagine that I will tolerate these for long. Sometimes, even a friend's recommendation is not a reliable review. (I am too polite to tell him what I think, but as I have said nothing about them, I suspect he knows.....)

3.0 out of 5 stars Great except 1 thing

These work great as budget headphones. The part that ruins it is the static or white noise. When no audio is playing, theres an incredibly annoying hissing sound that emanates.

If you have one and you're reading this, you can test it by listening to it with no audio plugged in, then listen to it unplugged. the hissing noise disappears the moment you unplug.

That noise is the one thing I absolutely hate in headphones. Such a shame. I heard incredible things about these headphones but none of them mentioned this. My razer kraken pro had this problem but it was solvable with the attached volume wheel. Was looking for a replacement for my Man o' war but i cant even return this because its a product from the UK.

I got these to replace my dated earbuds that I use for my phone and Quest, and right out of the box, I was impressed with both the sound quality and design of the headphones.

The detachable mic is a great addition, and the extender that connects it via USB is a good alternative for those that don't have access to a jack. The only thing that kept it from a 5-star review was the size.
My ears are somewhat large, so most won't have an issue, and even if you do, it's nothing major.

Overall it's a great headset for listening to music, watching movies and playing games with.

5.0 out of 5 stars I rate this headset - coming from Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro

I play competitive CSGO and these headphones are really well rounded and provide great comfort and sound quality at the same time. I use Sound Equalisation in Windows settings and can hear a lot in-game. I feel as if this headset is really well balanced for all in-game audio, especially compared to the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (which are great headphones, but for gaming I think these are better). Microphone quality is generally quite good, I had a situation where I sounded robotic, but resetting my PC alleviated that issue.

I use this product for gaming and for work purposes, works flawlessly with discord and twitch, the 7.1 surround amp is on another level, If you play fortnite / realm / siege, it allows you to pinpoint footsteps, i almost felt like i was cheating to be honest.
Music is amazing, lots of bass, i normally have to turn the headphones to max volume to enjoy my Metallica, but I found I actually had to have it on 7 - they are really really loud, which is perfect.
Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to these, you wont regret it.

Best money i've spent on headphones. Really happy with these, so comfortable and great sound. I can totally forget about everything bad I've done in my life with these. I'm a WoW player and it creates a far more immersive environment, especially during dialogue parts of the game where it moves perfectly with the character.
-Alloy construct is amazing
- Detachable mic is high quality in sound and construct, doesn't feel flimsy/cheap
-remote is super handy

Has a premium feel to the materials. Great sound.
Missing a feature to mix microphone sound into headphones, making it difficult to hear yourself if you use the leather ear pads. Not so much of a problem if you use the supplied foam pads.

It's a great set of headphones. I was worried sick about the surround sound claims of this, but it's a brilliant pair of headphones. Very nicely packed as well. For my Xbox one, I'll need to figure out how to use the surround sound properly, but it's an awesome product. Worth every cent
