5.0 out of 5 starsNothing to complain about
Reviewed in Australia on 9 April 2020
Mainly using it for PS4 (MW, Apex, etc). Usually solo play, sometimes party chat with mates. Using it for WFH online meetings as well.

Sound is great, good surround sound. Comfortable to wear during long periods (my ears fit perfectly inside). Not too heavy. Workmates say the sound is clear, although I look and sound like I'm about to report a crash on the Tulla from the helicopter.

All in all - great price for this quality. Arrived almost a week earlier than expected (Melb west suburbs). Good accessories. Highly recommended for any use.

1.0 out of 5 starsNOT HAPPY!
Reviewed in Australia on 30 August 2019
While the quality of gaming sound in my ears is probably pretty good and the mic clarity is good, The CONS (negatives, down-sides) OUT-WAY these PROS!
1. The detachable mic feature. I thought this would be a WONDERFUL feature, since i hate the mic being there when I'm not using it! The 1st time I detached it and re-attached it, I noticed it was already looser!!! <-- this is terrible! I've seen seen many complaints that they fall off and get looser over time!.
2. With a CHEAPER headset (by LG)... about half the price, I never had problems with the volume that I couldn't fix but with this one, there seems to be no SETTINGS to change it - there aren't even Windows mic settings for volume when it's the default mic item! This is AWFUL for recording video of gaming! <I had to do a work-around where i reduce all game sounds and reduce volume of GAME 'recording' while maxing out the volume of MIc recording at the recording sfotware end (NVidia/Geforce Experience aka Shadowplay)....VERY frustrating
3. The STUPID, POINTLESS dongle along the cord for headset Volume control (why do I need this??), gets snagged then rips apart, has a pointless 7.1Surround button, which i often find OFF (again, WHY have this option there) and a Mic volume which when i start a new game and ask other players, find that it's increasing my volume....I.e. My mic volume wasn't at Max for some reason...?...
^ This is all the opposite of what you want in a gaming headset and certainly not what I expected in a headset TWICE as expensive as the LG one I was using that DIDN'T HAVE THESE PROBLEMS!

5.0 out of 5 stars A little tight around the head, but packs real punch in gaming and music audio
Reviewed in Australia on 9 May 2021

Pros:

1. Played Rainbow Six Siege with this headset. I could hear ash's footsteps from halfway across the map and could tell exactly where it was coming from. 10/10 for soundwhoring.

2. On control panel audio devices, you should click properties for this headset and set the frequency in 'advanced' to the max because it isn't maxed by default. It improves sound quality and crispness a lot.

Cons:

1. It's very tight and creates this kind of suction when you put it on, which feels like when you're driving to a high mountain top and your ears start getting blocked. It's not really that uncomfortable, to be honest as you eventually forget it's there.

2. The firmware updater will tell you the latest version is 0010, and that you have the newer version 0030. This is not true, Hyper X admitted that it was a mistake and that 0010 is actually the latest version. So please go to the website, download the latest firmware update even if it tells you that you're downgrading to an older version.

On PS4 it might not work until you update the firmware :)

3. Virtual 7.1 surround sound is both a pro and a con. For gaming, it's terrible and messes up the directional audio because it emulates and duplicates directional audio that most games already have. But when listening to some music, it can sound really good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent

I’m very happy with the all round quality, comfort and experience of this headset. Dita nicely over my ears and sits firm on my head without feeling like my brains are being squeezed out.
Sound is phenomenal. For music, gaming and general use. Picks up so much more, sometimes disturbingly so, especially when in a spooky place in game. Music is great, bass is bassy.
Quality is top notch. From m the extra long adaptable cord to the decorative stitching along the padded head band. Mic is easy to pop on, and works really well. No complaints from other players about poor quality. And is easily adjustable from the remote that’s attached to the cord (which has a clip on the back so you can pop it on your shirt) also has a handy mute button on the side.

I recommend these to anyone who loves seriously good sound even without it’s extra booster button.

5.0 out of 5 stars I rate this headset - coming from Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro

I play competitive CSGO and these headphones are really well rounded and provide great comfort and sound quality at the same time. I use Sound Equalisation in Windows settings and can hear a lot in-game. I feel as if this headset is really well balanced for all in-game audio, especially compared to the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (which are great headphones, but for gaming I think these are better). Microphone quality is generally quite good, I had a situation where I sounded robotic, but resetting my PC alleviated that issue.

Really good sound quality, and comfortable to wear. It's worth the little bit of extra money, as it is an extremely pleasant headset overall.
Bought it about 9 months, and have been using it almost daily, for my streaming, or just watching movies.

10/10 recommend!!

Sound quality good, but not really good for gaming that requires precise echolocation. It often makes the stuff happening slightly to the side sound much further left or right than it really is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you need in a headset

Ill boil this down to a list of pros and cons;

PROS:

-Amazing sound, this headset really sounds good on even just the 5.1 surround sound (which is what it defaults to when using this headset for Xbox or Playstation), while gaming you can hear every sound around you crystal clear, and adding the amazing bass with it, it's perfect.

-Microphone quality is fantastic, my friends who I talk to on Xbox Live tell me ive never sounded clearer.

-The price is really good for what's it brings to the table.

-it comes with a protective bag you can keep them safe in

-the cord is braided which means it's not breaking unless you try to break it

CONS

-the microphone is detachable and does not fold up well if you wish to tuck it away, you'd have to take it right off

-I took a look inside the speakers just to see how the wire quality was, and it's not amazing, so you might wanna be careful with these and not knock them around

Overall amazing product, definitely worth the buy

Pricey
5.0 out of 5 stars Well made good value
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2020

Really good head set, I purchased this to be able to pin point footsteps and reload noises on PUBG. I have also used it on fortnight and COD Warzone and it performs very well.

Without this headset I rely on visual play only and it can be a bit unfair when you watch an enemy killcam replay and you see it was your footsteps they heard first.

The headset works on most platforms however for the PS4 you have to first update the sound card through it’s usb on a computer. This is easy to do, literally go on their website plug in your sound card and follow the update instructions. The sound card supports 5.1 surround sound, so it’s easy to locate those important sounds.

Not sure if the Xbox one needs an update but just be aware before buying incase you don’t have a pc.

The headset sound quality is more of a treble setup rather than bass. It picks up most of the sound effects and amplified them whilst reducing the bass.

It has no voice mixer on it so you can’t turn down chat and game volume independently. This was a let down for me but I’ve stuck with the headset as it’s very good value and very well made.

It comes in a well presented sturdy box and has a nice carry case. Also in the box you will receive two pairs of headset cushions, one made of leather and one made of soft fabric.

The microphone on this headset is very clear and voice sensitivity control can be adjusted through the sound card dongle. The microphone can be detached and transforms the headset in to a cool looking casual set of music headphones.

With the dongle and headset wire combined, it’s roughly three meters so you have a good amount of free play.

Being wired and having no preset functions make this a simple to use, pick up and play headset.

Overall if your after a headset for FPS battle royale type games then you can’t go wrong with these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really can't fault this product at all

So for 3 years I've been using a Wireless Corsair H2100 headset, which I don't even think you can buy anymore. Apart from a few niggly issues where I had to open it up and disconnect the internal battery once or twice I was happy with it. Recently though a part of the case broke which meant the headphones no longer stay against my ears on one side and the whole thing is very loose. I tried to glue it back together but it only worked for about an hour until it fell apart again.

So it was time to get a new headset. I spent a long, long time researching the various makes and models, wireless, wired, 7.1 sound, different-sized drivers, all budgets etc. I finally settled on these as I decided I didn't need the wireless and the extra expense for them was for me just not worth the money. I also needed them to work from USB, not audio jack, as it's inconvenient to get to mine and stretch the cable to my head. Also, there was a deal on them so that was an extra bonus.

When I first put them on I couldn't believe the difference in sound quality compared to my old ones, it was worlds apart, and the fit was better and much more comfortable. Had some issues with the mic when I first tried it as it needs a bit of force to make sure it's seated correctly but works well once it is.

If your looking for a good sound quality, well-built headset these won't disappoint, the lack of wireless will be an issue for some but, if you don't walk about the house often with your headset on, I really wouldn't bother paying the massive price difference.
