Another tiktok made me do it! This series has been blowing up all over my FYP and decided to give in and give it a try. And oh my! Why is this good? It has no business being this good but it is!
I will start off with saying there are two big trigger warnings for this book;
* forced abortion
* rape
But don’t worry our big blue hero’s aren’t the perpetrators!
These are a super quick read (I downloaded mine at 11pm and finished at 1am - 2hrs!) - is has a plot, character development, world development and spicy sex… with big blue aliens who have magic tongues and ridged penises 😳
It also had me laughing out loud in places! It’s definitely not written as a serious book, so don’t take it that way!
It is listed as romantic comedy and sci-fi romance on Amazon after all!
If your after a quick read and think you can handle some hot blue alien action then download this book!
Now if you will excuse me I’m off to read the next one! 😏😉🌶👽

🛸 To think I haven’t dressed properly for alien abduction 🛸🛸 After seeing this all over booksta I caved and wondered what the fascination was about and YO!!! This book was exactly as advertised!! 😂😂 Despite the weird ass premise (aka boning 7ft blue aliens) this was a hilarious, easy, entertaining read 🤣 It is pretty well written and I liked the world building, the detail and depth, 🌒 and despite the short length it was quick placed for a lot to happen and I was invested in the character relationships 🤔 The events moved quickly and there was a good amount of smut involved 😜

Blue ice aliens that great you by tasting you, is pretty much all you need to know.
Honestly, this book is written like a Wattpad book, it is very telling and not showing of the story. However, it makes up for this with the steamy scenes. They are hot! I didn't know that I liked blue men with strange bumps and horns but today I learnt that I definitely dig it.
I don't know if I'll read the 22 or something books but it's an easy read to cleanse your palette.

I just loved this book so much. Have been reading alot of enemies to lovers romance lately and I didn't realise how much I'd gotten used to the angst in those books. It was so refreshing and wonderful to read a story where the guy is so madly in love with the girl right from the start. There was just no meanness or deception or anything like that. Can't wait to read the next one.

This is such a great treatment of a fun and funny read (after a somewhat traumatic beginning).
This author shifts back and forth from the POV of the h and the H and I love how there are 2 different narrators to express this. They do a great job too! No robotic monotone here, these narrators actually get it caught up in the humour and the action

🧊 Ice Planet Barbarians 🧊
By Ruby Nixon
I was so sceptical when I first saw this book recommended that I actually rolled my eyes, but the sheer number of times that it was bought up by fellow readers alone, is what piqued my curiosity.
The premise of the book is that a large group of women have been kidnapped from Earth and are aboard a spacecraft headed for who knows where, when something goes awry and they crash land on a (you guessed it) ice planet 😱🥶
Said ice planet is inhabited by a super tall, super buff, blue & horned race called the Sa-khui.
The main characters of book 1 are Georgie & Vektal (the tribes chief) Upon finding Georgie hurt in the wild, Vektal immediately recognises her as his mate.
I have NEVER ventured into the sci-fi realm previously (as it has honestly never interested me in the slightest) but, the themes of this book are classic romance at heart.
I loved the heroines journey through adversity and then the interpersonal relationships between love interests, friends & family.
I also found myself giggling out loud at some of the ‘human’ dialog as well. I was wondering how the steamier scenes would be portrayed (fully expecting to be weirded out) but they were so tastefully written (pun intended for those of you familiar with the books 😜) that it never seemed out of place or foreign.
This is a 22 book series and counting, and I am well over half way through.
This series snuck up on me and I’m thoroughly enjoying going from one set of characters to the next in this continuing saga. I’d even go as far as to say that I have been converted into the sci-fi (as I have a handful of other sci-fi series racked up on Goodreads ‘read’ shelf)
I gave this book 5 stars as it took me by surprise in the best way & completely sucked me into the world, which is obviously the sign of a great book & amazing writing by an author.
Definitely won’t be judging anymore books by their blue horns ✌🏻

Look ok I probably have this book such a high rating because I was kind of in a reading slump and I needed some smut, but damn this book! It was written very well and I really enjoyed the world building aspect of the book, though I do wish it could have been longer so they we would have been able to truly understand the main character but also the side characters and the animals within the world. We never got a good understanding of the other characters within the book as they were sort of glossed over, though I guess it makes you want to read the other book.
Good overall!!

Pure escapism

Trigger warnings:
Abduction
Imprisonment
Rape (secondary character)
My first thought was the writing style was going to be difficult to follow because it’s very informal with lots of short, choppy sentences. However, it didn’t matter because I found the story so compelling. I mean, what would you do if you were abducted by aliens?
Georgie wakes up and finds herself imprisoned on an alien spaceship with human females her own age, but she’s not willing to just accept her fate. She’s a fighter and far from the screaming “it’s hopeless” victim. Things get worse when they are dumped on a frozen planet. Again, Georgie proves she’s not some “let’s wait for a rescue” type and I couldn’t help but get behind her.
This book is a piece of pure escapism. Just turn off your brain and allow yourself to be taken away by this easy read. The plot is fantastical, but it drew me in. You’ll also enjoy it if you like fated mates tropes and plenty of hot and heavy sex with large aliens who are built to please women - not just sexually, they love, cherish and see to their every need.
I really fancy reading more, but I might save it for when I hit a reading rut and need something fun to get me going again.

A sci-fi erotic thriller / love story fest.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2016Verified Purchase
I found this book, and the rest of the series, whilst looking for some decent sci-fi to read on my kindle.
I was drawn in fairly early and I am not sure if I was shocked by the content or not.
The basic story line goes... "Earth Female is chased by friendly blue people following abduction by unfriendly aliens" with more or less 'pornography' depending on who is chasing who.
Each book has a central core plot involving 2 people, an Earth female and her Blue 'suitor' who either love or hate each other at first sight.
If you regard this as a "What girls like", then my own education has been considerably lacking. :)
IF you are offended by explicit sexual descriptions with varying degrees of the F and C bombs, then you may not enjoy the series.
If you like a good story and can treat the bombs as meaningless words without writing to your MP, then read and enjoy.
I bought the whole series on the strength of book 1 and eagerly await the next in the series as I feel sure that the evil aliens must return for a showdown.... maybe.
The writing is excellent. You warm to all the characters and you start to care... or at least I did.
Give at least one book a try.
Read them in order too. It helps.

Good Sci-Fi romance

I can be a bit funny with alien romances. Sometimes I love them...sometimes I DNF them.
After the insane amount of hype over these books, I'll admit I went in with some trepidation. Would they actually live up to the hype?
Well...yes and no. I'll preface by saying that I definitely enjoyed it, and fully plan on reading more when I need a break from the darker books I usually read.
I liked: Most things, honestly. The aliens are friendly, the good kind of possessive, and cherish the women. Plus, they're warriors thst love to please their women. There's not much to dislike. The planet is interesting, and I got a good feel for it. The story was written and edited well and kept me interested throughout.
Things I wasn't as keen on: As is the case with most serial novels like this...the end came a bit abruptly. I'm assuming these characters will make an appearance in future books...but it kind of makes it difficult to call this a standalone. It doesn't feel finished, which makes me both want and not want to read more. Not want to, because you know thst in order to get the full picture, you'll need to read all of them...and there are A LOT of them. If you don't like series, this one won't be for you. I also felt that a lot more could have come from the other alien threat...but it was barely a blip. The steamy scenes were nice, but not 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 nice.
So, worth the hype? I'd say the jury is out on that one, but I will read more in the future.

Did I expect this to be a book solely filled with sex scenes and no plot whatsoever? Why yes, yes I did. I blame Tiktok for those expectations. However, there is an actual plot. I was pleasantly surprised. After all, a book called Ice Planet Barbarians doesn't leave much room for it to be anything else.
I am a little late to this trend of reading these books. But that's okay. For whatever reason, every time something is tremendously popular (like a book) it turns me off reading and I wait until the excitement dies down. But enough about me. Let's talk about this book.
Georgie finds herself in a spaceship after being abducted by the little green men. Literally. After crash landing and being left for dead, Georgie volunteers to explore this strange planet as they're all injured and exhausted. She meets Vektal, seven feet tall horned blue alien who insists she is his mate.
I was pleasantly surprised because the author did think through what her story is going to be. I am embarrassed to say that when I heard about all this noise regarding these books, I'd find them incredibly bad. I apologize to the author for that. I loved to see Georgie and Vektal's dialogues and how the point of view would change and give us insight to each of them. Though obviously strange, their love story is sweet and even funny at times.
I do think certain parts of the storyline were hurried and therefore give it 4 out of 5 stars. There are some parts that could be polished. Otherwise, great writing and good story.
There is a rape scene at the beginning, in case someone is triggered by that!
Re-reading so I can continue with the series
Glossary doesn't exist in the special edition paperback. However, there is a part in the back listing all of the characters, including the minor ones. The paperback version has no rape scene (thank god). This book also contains Bonus Epilogue (Georgie goes hunting) and a novella Ice Planet Honeymoon with Vektal and Georgie, rounding their story up.

Georgie is abducted by little green men one night. Is she living in a cliche? No, but she is living a nightmare. When she comes to, she finds herself in a cage of sorts with a handful of other women, all around the same age. From what they gather, the aliens are looking to sell them like cattle.
When they’re unceremoniously dumped in a sort of crash landing for the aliens to retrieve later, they decide they need to do some recon in the hopes of escaping. Georgie is nominated for the task, so off she goes in the hopes of finding salvation. After much trekking through the freezing snow, Georgie ends up getting trapped in a hunter’s snare.
Vektal returns to find a strange new creature in one of his traps. But the weirdest thing is that his khui begins resonating almost immediately at the sight of this small, smooth, weak creature. Could he have finally found his mate?
Oh man this book lives up to everything I’ve heard about it!
A fated/mated plot line but with the twist of aliens in the mix. It’s spicy, well-paced, gripping, and funny! I wasn’t expecting the humour but I found myself chuckling at many points and have highlighted a fair few lines.
Told in dual POV I loved seeing Vektal and Georgie muddle through communicating, and their interactions and internal monologues were highly entertaining.
I’ve just seen that there are a LOT of books in this series so thus increases my TBR!
