Lovely film!

Being a sucker for a good old British romcom, I couldn’t resist this film! It’s a beautiful love story between two women who meet quite by chance and eventually realise they can’t live without each other! The amazing Lena Headey & Piper Perabo have wonderful chemistry and are utterly believable as two people falling in love. The way they look at each other really conveys every emotion, good and bad, as they try to negotiate their feelings for one another and everyone else! The rest of the cast is also great, especially newcomer Boo Jackson, who was note perfect throughout in what could have been the typical annoying younger sister role! The best part for me though was that it really didn’t matter that it was about two women, it could have easily been a man and a woman or two men! So many films featuring gay characters can over sensationalise the fact that they’re lesbians or gay men, which can ruin the story. But in IMAY it was simply about falling in love with person you’re meant to be with and writer and director Ol Parker, deserves great credit for that.

Great film, worth a watch!

Hadn't heard of this film previously, came across it by chance and thought I'd take a chance on getting it due to the cast and the good reviews - and I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy! I wasn't disappointed! It's a really good film, showing that the course of true love isn't always what you'd expect. And that's what this film is all about, love. It's not your typical romantic comedy or typical lesbian film; the gender of the characters doesn't matter, all that matters is the course of true love and how love at first sight can be an unexpected, exciting adventure that can change your world. We can't choose who we love or when it happens, but the journey of acceptance is one that makes a great film - one that has been well made and has a great cast. Definitely worth a watch if you like a good love story.

Appalling Film

The idea behind this "love story" is that is is alright to disregard the feelings of a thoroughly nice, kind, blameless man if he gets in the way of what you want. The fact that he does the decent thing and steps aside does not mean the idea becomes acceptable. Appalling film.

Good fun, feel good factor film.

How refreshing to have a gay film where the ending is positive. So many gay characters end up being used as the tragic losers or worse, the villain. Don't get me started on stuff like, tokenism, scapegoats, marriage breakers, the list goes on we all recognise it don't we! Well, here's the good news, this is a funny, natural, gay relationship romance which makes you laugh and is well acted by a bunch of our good young British actors. Well done, Let's hope for more.
