This really doesn't reach any real heights, the music is predictable but forgettable. This is the poor relation to Hamilton. The sets and setup don't really match the location and time that it is supposed to be. It seems sanitized to the point of losing the whole context of what it is supposed to be about.

Not as good a Crazy Rich Asians, though there are some fun scenes (dancing on the side of the building). Again the question always is: does it add? Not really. Wait till it is free on streaming.

I had never seen the heights musical but loved Hamilton so to hear that the director of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ (another favourite) directed this one, it was a no brainer!.

it’s such a feel good movie. I’m so glad I bought and not rented as just like CRA, I wouldn’t have been able to watch it just the one time!

Carribean/hip hop fusion, definitely recommend.

If I could have given more than 5 stars I would. Story line amazing,singing amazing,dancing outstanding,characters fantastic, uplifting is an under statement , sad in one part but it makes the story for me in so many ways. I very rarely watch a film twice but this one I would, and if you love New York you will love this film for sure the icing on the cake for me. Now I need to see the stage show but not sure I will be able to sit still for long and will have some tissues at the ready.

There are many good things about this Blu Ray - and it has excellent sound and image. But the film itself would be vastly improved if it was 20 minute shorter and the cuts need to come in the first third. The endlessly repetitive music and dance numbers just go on and on with diminishing returns. It’s only when the real drama takes place that the motion picture begins to have the impact the storyline deserves. The performances, direction and camerawork are all terrific but there are just too many musical numbers and if they had been trimmed the movie might have been a little masterpiece.
