I thought this was a children's book and bought it for my 12 year old. She found it boring and didn't get far into it. I have randomly opened it and read about Colonel Hogan and his sexual antics and his making of pornos, their words not mine. Not really something I would talk about at a family gathering like the book suggests.

This book is filled with subject matter that is not for children at all. The cover and the description make it seem like it would be a great book for a curious and intelligent pre-teen who loves history, but most of the stories seem to be about murder and there is also a lot of sexual content. I bought this as a gift for my son and can't give it to him, and I'm disappointed.

Im a regular non fiction reader and expected a good read. This book printed by Amazon in the UK is really the antithesis of the title.
The stories are very American slanted and none are memorable imo.

One mans views on things he finds interesting. Teenagers won’t find this interesting at all. The stories are not stories just a commentary on things with facts thrown in. Who cares the difference between a hot dish and casserole for example. These things aren’t at all relatable to people under the age of 40, or 50 even. I’m 40, I wouldn’t impress any of my mates at the bar with any of this!
