How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsIf you read the one star reviews don't let them put you off this book
Reviewed in Australia on 21 May 2021
Now, I am a reader of one star reviews before I buy a book so did the same with this one. What I read there nearly put me off so I just wanted to address some of the things that were mentioned in those reviews.
1. If you don't like sex scenes don't read romance novels, this is a story about a woman who hires a male escort so I'm not sure what people were expecting. I know that there are the sweet genre Romance novels out there but I'm pretty sure that you can tell that this is definitely not one of those from the blurb so to criticise it for this is just ridiculous. That being said there was not nearly as much sex in the book as I thought there was going to be, yes there was a bit but it was in line with a lot of romance that I read and I read probably near to 200 books a year.
2. Several people mentioned Fifty Shades of Grey in their reviews which is the thing that actually nearly put me off reading this book. This book is in not related to 50 Shades of Grey in any way shape or form so completely disregard those reviews. If you are like me this is a good thing as in my personal opinion fifty shades is seriously overrated trash. Sorry if that offends anybody.
3. The last thing that more than one reviewer mentioned was about the author not having done her homework about Asperger's. If the reviewers had read about the author they would know that the author has Asperger's and for anyone who does know anything about it knows that it is called a spectrum for a reason. I don't think I need to say anything more about that.
So having gotten my grievances out of the way with the reviews I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it .

Ill be honest when i say this bored me a lot, the plot was basic and kinda cringy at times but this book literally took me so long to finish, it was like a chore not a treat, ill admit the romace was a little cute but overall im a little disappointed because the hype was a lot, but still happy i read it.

And I don’t get the hype surrounding this book. I wouldn’t categorize it as a romance either. It reads like soft core erotica - not complaining about that, I love erotica, just saying it’s badly advertised and it feels like it was done so in order to sell more books *shrugs
Starting off with this because not every reader will be comfortable with full pages of detailed sexual interaction between the main characters. And when I say detailed I mean it - the author goes full erotica on you.
Moving on, I will say I loved Stella. She is adorable and getting to know her character is fun. She’s portrayed as a strong and independent woman. Whether or not that was the author’s intention, she made me think her lacking in some of the social and relationship skills she pursues to improve with Michael isn’t so much her own shortcoming but rather how society fails to provide a woman and a woman with autism with both the education and the community and the environment to live healthy relationships. I never thought Stella had a problem nor did I think Michael was any special for being able to get through to her. I think all the men Stella had had sex with previously to Michael and who didn’t bother to get to know her first, were the problem. And I’m not sure the book makes that clear for every reader.
In that regard I find the plot a bit too convoluted and hard to believe, if not downright dangerous, and I wasn’t comfortable with how Michael thinks like a possessive jerk while not acting on his feelings - you have no right, sir. Come to think of it, I didn’t like his character much and his possessiveness rubbed off on me the wrong way.
Plus, the whole story developing in a repetitive loop, revolving around the same dynamics too much and for far too long annoyed me even further and to be completely honest, I was bored at parts (I even skipped a couple paragraphs of what was basically the same thing from previous chapters, only written with synonym words).
The worst part for me about The Kiss Quotient though is how miscommunication is the sole drama inducer to their whole relationship. Miscommunication is my biggest pet peeve in romance and I absolutely loathe that easy escape authors take to create drama before the inevitable happy ending we all know is going to happen no matter what. We don’t need any more romance books where miscommunication is the star, we need romance where they talk things out, all the things!
Overall, this is a 2.5 star book and it was a massive disappointment.
